Jan 8, 2021 Em has f----- up with this side B. Gnat is dog s--- and cannot believe it was the first single. Higher should have been the first single, followed by Discombobulated. Why does Em do this? Is Paul still making dumb f--- decisions for Em? No promotion worked for Kamikaze and Side A. Like did he seriously think Gnat would be number 1 and is better than Higher or Discombobulated to release first? Godzilla worked because it had a catchy hook by Juice World.Gnat is just flat out terrible! Em should have got rid of Paul years ago!
Jan 8, 2021 But it didn’t! MTBMB still did 270k first week going up against Mac Miller album who had just died and Halsey who did a promotion for hers and still went to number 1.
Jan 8, 2021 It’s too late, Gnat entered at number 60 as it’s total trash and no one cares about it. Higher, Discombobulated and Killer should have been released so close to each other if he really cared and wanted side B to do well.
Jan 8, 2021 To be honest, on ShadyXV he chose a good single for the last time. GOF was very good, it reminded me of When I'm Gone. This was the last time they picked the right 1st single. I thought that he would quit rap after this song, but instead he began to make tracks many times worse afterwards. It would be a good retirement after this track. They made a mistake when they continued to release the next albums.
Jan 8, 2021 I didn't expect him to do much after not doing s--- for MTBMB. Gnat is a good first single because of the video and the content about corona.
Jan 8, 2021 It would have been good for a single for sure but not sure if it'd get that much of a recognition by mainstream. Zeus seems to be hitting of better than any other track, it has the most streams outta all tracks except GNAT and in spite of being one of the last songs on the album. (First songs always tend to get more streams as some people lose interest in the albums as they listen.)
Jan 8, 2021 This track was almost as good as When I'm Gone. I remember when I saw the premiere of music video When I'm Gone on MTV in December 2005, I was surprised that Eminem left the stage. But it was great single & video. I have not seen anything like this before that someone would leave with the same good single and music video. If Eminem had stopped releasing albums after 2005, he would still be as legendary as Tupac.
Jan 8, 2021 Sorry but it isn’t!Gnat is actually dog s---! Darkness and Godzilla were much better videos. Doesn’t Em realise that catchy hooks are what most people care about nowadays?
Jan 8, 2021 STFU Tupac is only legendary because he died! If he was still alive he would not be half as popular!
Jan 8, 2021 Not only today, it has always been. Eminem was so popular in the 2000s because his songs were perfect. The quality of his music has dropped dramatically in recent years, so people don't come back to his albums again, even if in the first week everyone checks what new he has released.
Jan 8, 2021 That’s what annoys me, years ago he chose the perfect hooks for his songs, perfect example of this is the Aerosmith Dream On hook for Sing For The Moment, that s--- is still legendary!
Jan 8, 2021 Do you remember the poll on the website of Vibe magazine in 2008, where they chose the "best rapper of all time" and in the final there were Eminem and Tupac, and then Eminem won. It was before the release of Relapse, before the return. The most important thing is to leave on time. Tupac left at the very peak. Eminem could have left in 2005 at its peak.
Jan 8, 2021 He didn’t show that he could fast rap, he didn’t think about the rhyme scheme, he just did good rap, good lyrics. Why can he do something like this these days?
Jan 8, 2021 I never once in my post mentioned his age. I’m stating that he’s stayed consistently ahead of his contemporaries for 20+ years so you can’t call that a loss.
Jan 8, 2021 And I’m not standing up for him or riding his D, I personally think he’s been lackluster sonically for the last 3/4 of his career.
