Jan 10, 2021 Let’s go back to the original point and not take things out of context. If mtbmb has dropped instead of encore then it would have been a different story - Encore led to a lot critical and a 5 year hiatus (aside from D12)
Jan 10, 2021 You know how buu split into majin buu and evil buu in dragon ball? If em split into two it would be mgk and nf lmfaooo
Jan 10, 2021 I've never watched Dragon Ball, but I get what you're saying. But I would also add Hopsin, and Joyner and Logic. Basically: 1 MGK + 1 NF + 1 HOPSIN + 1 JOYNER + 1 LOGIC = EMINEM.
Jan 10, 2021 Imagine if Lose Yourself and 8 Mile Road was on TES. I disagree but I think it's generally agreed upon that both tracks are a little weaker than the rest. I didn't mention Square Dance and Business. They are awesome as well.
Jan 10, 2021 In 2004, Godzilla would have been a global hit, as Rap God was in 2013. In 2004, Fall would have been a maassive hit, as shouting singles were in 2010 (yeah, I know Fall is Kamikaze). People call Kamikaze and MTBMB bad (some people), arguing that nobody outside the fanbase cares about the albums. But they miss the point. Kamikaze and MTBMB aren't objectively bad but STALE. Godzilla is Rap God, Kamikaze is a better Recovery, and so on. If MTBMB had been released back in 2004,when actually hip-hop equaled EMINEM AND 50 CENT, no way it would have been slept on. It would still have been FRESH then. And, as I said, Godzilla would have been a massive hit, as its would still have been adequate to 2004's music trends ,or even ahead of them. In 2020, it is downright retro music (good music, but no longer mainstream, and nothing wrong about that).
Jan 10, 2021 I very doubt there were some people who considered Revival to be his best album since comeback.
Jan 10, 2021 I feel like the music on MTBMB isn't anything special in this time because there's a lot of rappers that do what em does (not as good) but if you randomly throw it out there in 2004 or whatever it would be stand out and ahead of the curb it would've been very different than anything else so maybe it would be looked at differently idk though
Jan 10, 2021 Anyone that is comparing Higher to Till I Collapse hasnt got a clue what the f--- they’re talking about lmao. How the f--- can you even begin to put them in the same conversation? Nope.
Jan 10, 2021 Agree but it has that same type of beat/same We will rock you sample and the hook is also champion like.
Jan 10, 2021 hahha I feel you. I already catching myself listen to old s--- like Encore and D12 World. Yesterday I thought something like man even the rapping on Encore felt more organic and we know how drugged up he was by then. Em's albums since Relapse had always a problem with production but he saved that with good rapping and sometimes with overdubing things in production but Side B is the first Em album ever where I would consider the rapping ''not my cup of tea'' and one of the better ones in production. Its crazy. Here, I only like his rapping on She Loves Me and Discoumbobulated. Sometimes I think Em wants to provoke us and the game with that deep voice cause it also pushes the fact that he became old! I always will respect him no matter what he does but on the other hand knowing that he still has it but ain't use it is a kick to the tummy for a fan like me. And yes I'll buy the CD of B Side out of respect for Em, as a collecter and it also has its good sides regardless.
Jan 11, 2021 Encore's first listen was weird, but it had a bunch of songs that I loved. Side B in my opinion is better than Side A, it's just easier to listen to front to back.
