Apr 28, 2021 Kuniva had some great tracks, Swifty too, even Mr. Porter (post 2010 mostly). It's not like they're on let's say Rakim, Nas, Jay etc. level, but their solo stuff > D12 verses tbh but yeah, Kuniva >> any D12 rapper, not Proof tho, he was a beast
Apr 28, 2021 I've always hated a strong dislike for the song sonically and I hate how female songs are always his go to filler songs but I love the "I'm just a f---ing romantic I f---ing love you you f---ing b----" part
Apr 28, 2021 I feel like Em would definitely feel threatened by Kendrick which would mean Em would bring his a game and I'd hate to be that guy but when Em is in his zone and feels he has something to prove I think it would be a very hard thing to do. Kendrick would be actual competition but I don't think it would be an easy win on his end....if you ignore the people who will just say Em ruined the song before even hearing his part.
Apr 28, 2021 It depends on what they would talk about cause when em wants to really make a serious song he becomes a better writer by like tenfold lol
Apr 28, 2021 Yeah I’m definitely not saying kuniva spitting like the ppl you named. I just know kuniva and swifty aren’t trash like ppl make them out to be, and boy them Midwest marauders series takes me back. If you go back I would safe kuniva and swifty had some great verses on the d12 songs. I think for me growing up I was so focused on Eminem verse and didn’t care what the rest was doing.
Apr 28, 2021 In comparison to himself yeah but in comparison to Kendrick not a chance, there’s levels to this s---. This isn’t a syllable battle — serious topics require insight, knowledge, perception etc. Darkness is fantastic but what does it represent/conclude? What statement does it project into the art form? “Guns are bad mmkay?” Advocating for gun reform aka disarming the working class shows a complete lack of understanding & perception regardless of ideology. There’s a reason they’ve never attempted a socially conscious song, it just wouldn’t work.
Apr 28, 2021 Something I never liked about the D12 albums is how they never really used the split personality concept. Like at the end of s--- Can Happen em just shouts out the member's alter egos and they never come into play besides when em and bizarre are rapping.
Apr 28, 2021 Kanye made a great song with Kendrick. And every Game & Kendrick song was dope. Em just put him on the worst thing he could find.
Apr 29, 2021 Love gane is the worst thing em could find? You need to listen to more music if you think love game is as bad as you think it is lol
Apr 29, 2021 It's a shame imo. Getting a lyrical rapper to do something so dumb. And dude even made sure he wrote the verse himself for this s--- lol
Apr 29, 2021 No sir. When I read about Tolstoy and Dostoevsky there's one thing that is apparent. Tolstoy is more of a sociologist, Dostoevsky more of a psychologist. Far as I can see, same thing applies to Kendrick and Eminem, respectively. Kendrick speaks on society, on black people's place in society. He speaks of society f---ing perfectly good people up. Because he has experienced that. He has seen that first hand. And since he has seen that, he has studied that. He knows more about that. His immense knowledge is clearly reflected in King Kunta, Blacker the Berry and to some extent, in pretty much all songs ending up on his albums. Eminem is a psychologist. Just because he cracks corny jokes doesn't cancel that fact out. He talks of people's minds, of what they are thinking. Older Eminem was great at this, sure. Has he studied that? Probably not. That gives him a totally different perspective of the bigger picture, without needing to know nuances. Renegade speaks on the media's mindset. Who knew is a reflection of what people thought of Em as --- a disgusting person tainting them. Stan is the psychology of a crazed out fan. So many more examples. Darkness never was about gun control. It was about a psychotic shooter's thoughts before the big crime. It was about drawing parallels between the shooter and a rapper. It was never a social commentary. Just because there is a seemingly political outro doesn't mean the song was for created for that purpose or with that intent. It is a nuanced, artistic song about an atypical subject. So... no. Kendrick wouldn't obliterate Em in serious topics. It would depend on the topic itself. Some topics Kendrick would have a clear edge, others, Em would k--- on. And this pose isn't by a crazed out stan sucking Em's d-ck. Only reason I wrote this was to counter Darkness slander. That is one of the few songs by "new Em' that gives me hope that someday I'll see an artistic, deep, storytelling project from Eminem that I'll call a masterpiece. And to defend that hope I'll defend Darkness using my d-ck as a dagger if needed. At the end of the day... this is just my opinion. Feel free to s--- on it.
