Aug 31, 2020 2 years since Kamikaze dropped & I still don’t think I’ve ever had as much enjoyment listening to an opening track as I have The Ringer It was EVERYTHING I ever wanted from modern day Em—and more. Everything about that track is perfect; it really is in the upper echelon of rapping. The flow switches, humour, rhyming, wordplay, content, & tone was all immaculate. Nobody can rap like that. Absolute masterpiece & if you disagree you’re simply wrong. The writing is so, so f---ing good. So many quotables. Never thought he’d make something so good, so late on in his career that goes into my top 10 overtaking his prime stuff.

Aug 31, 2020 2018 also had some amazing releases from Black Thought, Royce 5'9', Pusha-T, Westside Gunn, Denzel Curry, Benny The Butcher, Joell Ortiz, Freddie Gibbs, Earl Sweatshirt and Conway. The Ringer is amazing but all of these guys havae atleast one song better than Ringer on their projects.
Aug 31, 2020 I was truly amazed the time kamikaze dropped like everyone else but i always had the feeling of like "how will this even sound after a while" consider it was such a in-the-moment project but god d--- it has aged well! i dunno it is just smt about the energy through out the project. Great stuff
