Sep 29, 2020 MMLP2 has some of his best writing post-hiatus throughout - Revival doesn’t have 1 top shelf moment.
Sep 29, 2020 Rhyme or Reason, Groundhog Day, Rap God, Baby, Brainless, Don’t Front, Wicked Ways > Evil Twin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Revival
Sep 29, 2020 Evil Twin probably is one of the top tracks on the album... hence it's not a very good album
Sep 29, 2020 3 things I want from em before he going to ritere: Drill Beat Eminem Another relapse type album The final 3 persona Album with the concept I have in my head (it’s pretty much also a relapse of album)
Sep 29, 2020 I guess you have to enjoy 90s production to enjoy that throwback. Not everybody’s cup of tea.
Sep 29, 2020 i guess i enjoy a lot of 90'S production. But that doesnt mean that everything with this vibe is gold
Sep 29, 2020 I want Eminem away from trap/drill & all this electronic surface level production that doesn’t have a soul. He can show off his technical skills on them but it doesn’t create long-lasting music. But that doesn’t mean Recovery style production neither, just stick to simple melodies & ride the beats more. Em & Dre really do mesh so well together & I know it feels like we’ve been beating the same dead horse for over a decade now, but the music they make together *is* gold - they found the winning formula I wish they’d just stick to it. It doesn’t have to be similar content or similar production to the past, as Relapse has shown they are capable of fresh ideas & scapes. I’d like to see what they could come up with in 2020 - as long as Dre actually steps up to the plate.
Sep 29, 2020 I would agree, If not for 'Arose'. I say 'Arose' is his best emotional writing & performance. It is a f---ing masterpiece.
Sep 29, 2020 Writing was great, but performance was kinda not. Idk why Revival mixes sound so wack. Sometimes I think he made that album on purpose to troll everybody, so he could drop Kamikaze.
Sep 29, 2020 MMLP2>>>>>>>>> Revival and its not even close. Bad Guy alone is better than like 14 or 15 songs on Revival.
Sep 29, 2020 Hence why it’s called *Revival* facepalming on the cover, full of leftovers, no connecting theme or sequencing, horrible production even the good songs have bad mixing, he did everything the fans asked him not to do, terrible promo & he states he’s rewriting his mistakes with a f---ing toilet flush at the end lmao - on the opening track of his next project, The Ringer, he says “old me k--- the new me - watch him bleed to death” & on Fall “he ain’t spitting like this on his last s--- - Ho, you better go back & listen you know me better, thinking I’ll slow or let up - call it trap cos it’s a *total setup*” He went from incredibly out of touch to having his finger completely on the pulse 6 months later. There’s loads more instances. It’s all an outlandish theory but some of it is only explainable as exactly that. We’ll never know.
Sep 29, 2020 Man this is something i think about from time to time. Like, why the f--- he already had the Chloraseptic remix planned before the album dropped? Plus, that terrible promotion with the drug s---, Trevor and Dr. Dre and the album having nothing to do with it. I don't know, i wouldn't be surprised if the flop was somehow planned.
Sep 29, 2020 evil twin is a good concept and I like it but rhyme or reason and brainless >>>>> Also groundhog day is cool. Mmlp2 is not bad to me but it didn't have standouts on the level of like deja vu, gtc, fall, ringer etc
