Oct 7, 2020 I agree with all your points. First off, it's true that people are petty and even a brilliant album would be criticized by a number of people. Especially so for Em. But between all of us, we know from the very first song of any album, what tier it belongs to. When I got interested in rap, I started checking out all sorts of records and I came across TPAB eventually. The first song(I think Wesley's Theory) itself felt so strong and creative that I was assured that TPAB's S-Tier status was justified. Same for MMLP. Like d---, from the Public Service Announcement itself we knew that s--- was about to go down. And it did. Em's changing up his styles a lot post-Revival. He's opening up his mind to the new sound too, clearly. He just needs to gather a lil bit of fire within him and get creative and new. And that will be enough.
Oct 7, 2020 As for ratings going high, Relapse deserves that. Little to no rap records have done things as well as Relapse did what it wanted to. The vibe was on point. MTBMB and Kami, not so much. Regarding Kami, Lashing out at critics is one thing, but there's tons of ways to do that. Best way is creating a piece of art that shuts critics up. Shouting at them is okay for a while but for a long time, continuously--no. MTBMB for the fact that it didn't do anything that's already been done. But it did have some exceptional tracks(Darkness, Yah Yah...). But a great album is a cohesive album. Atleast some string tying it together: SSLP-Insight into a crazed mind MMLP- Looking at the world through the f-ed up eye of one MM TES- I'm Eminem. I am not monochrome, rather a conglomerate of colours. Encore-??? Relapse- I ODed but I still got skillz, crazy skillz Recovery-So much passion and fire in me MMLP2- I still got it. Revival-??? Kamikaze- Fack, rap's broken and critics criticize MTBMB-Just me, but less angry with some good beats, flows and a few really good songs Just my explicit opinion
Oct 7, 2020 He hasn't just changed styles post-Revival. He's always changed styles. Every album. In fact doesn't get enough credit for it. I saw someone on YouTube not long ago say something like 'the thing with Em is he always sounds the same, wheras Nas changes it up constantly'... I'm like... Okay that statement is literally the opposite of reality lol. Listen to Nas NOW and listen to him in 1994. He sounds the d--- same. And I am a fan of Nas, but he nas not evolved his tonality or flows AT ALL. Wheras think of Slim Shady LP, "My Name Is"... then think of just the very next album "The Way I Am", then think of the very next album "Square Dance", then the next, "Crazy in Love", then "3am"... I mean... every sinlge one of these is so drastically different in tone and style... it may as well be a different rapper every time. Seriously think "My Name Is" then "Not Afraid". That is like two different humans. I don't mean his subject-matter, which even that and the writing (also changes constantly) is different, I just mean the SOUND. His voice, his tone. The flow. Totally different rap styles. He's created about 100.
Oct 7, 2020 Again, I agree. But I would like to point out the stagnancy in the MMLP2-Revival period. Of course he switched up stuff now and then but the base was pretty much the same. Seriously listen to any song from that period, they're ineffably similar.
Oct 7, 2020 Also every great artist in history has evolved. Nas is a great example of someone who hasn’t evolved which is why he is trash
Oct 7, 2020 That’s probably the reason why still a lot „haters“ will check Eminem’s stuff, because every dayum album sounds different.
Oct 7, 2020 What happened to the october release according to @Guma and @Xmipod ? also, any word on MMLP20 music?
