Jul 17, 2015 He's releasing in 2016. He finished recording those Southpaw songs months ago... " went on the computer recently and got on one site, read five comments" I bet he was here reading the thread about phenomenal mixing
Jul 17, 2015 read the little bracket before that their styles wouldn't mesh at all... and it would prolly be very very very very bad but I'm talking about how to stay relevant because let's face it... collabs with Yelawolf won't keep his name in the spotlight
Jul 17, 2015 doesn't take a whole year to make a new album, and GlassHouse will be release at the end of this year so after that he will totally focus on his solo. IMO it will be a late 2016/early 2017 release
Jul 17, 2015 Really good interview. I always thought he would be a big Big Sean or Kendrick fan, but I was surprised to see him show love to Drake, Wayne, and Kanye. I'm thinking a new solo album in late 2016 or early 2017. He also seems like he's pretty self aware of the flaws in his music, so hopefully the next project we hear from him reflects that.
Jul 17, 2015 he's been praising lil wayne, drake, nicki and kanye in every other interview since 2010
Jul 17, 2015 why would he collab with some b- list rappers to keep himself relevant when they are way bigger rappers out there like drake, kendrick etc
Jul 17, 2015 yeah idk why I chose YT or Future over Drake and Kendrick. He'd do much better with them
Jul 17, 2015 He is the studio 9-5 6 days week & releases about 1 decent song in 4 years. Someone needs to tell him he lost his sense of humour when he got sober.
Jul 17, 2015 say what you want about eminem, but at least every album he makes sounds completely different from the last--and that's probably why I'll always anticipate his music until he retires. we have NO IDEA what a new eminem album will sound like...the same can't be said for guys like wayne, jay-z, j.cole, etc.
Jul 17, 2015 that's something Kendrick and Em definitely got going for them among other things. Their projects will always sound different from the last
Jul 17, 2015 A lot of people critisized Recovery because of the yelling and the pop feel to it. They wanted the old Em back. On MMLP2 he toned it down a bit and tried to bring back the old Em but it didn't go as expected and it was also largely critized. You could already feel that he had no direction and didn't know where to go musically. MMLP2 is the only album in Em's catalog that i feel has no direction or overall theme. He goes from "old" Em with songs like Brainless to more vintage rock n roll/ hiphop like Berzerk to more poppy songs like The Monster and Survival. I think he tried to please everyone and it made an album that was inconsistent and forgetable. And since Shady XV the biggest critism has been his flow. I think he is aware of all the critics and since everything he tried to do to please everyone has failed, he has come to a point where he doesn't know what the f--- he should do next.
Jul 17, 2015 It's like everytime he does something different to fix one of the flaws in his music, he develops another flaw.
Jul 17, 2015 Shut up I don't care about them, but the reporter asked a fairly reasonable question, one that might actually give some insight into the guy, and he dodged. He's a weakling
