When his flow is impressive (rap god) his lyrics sucks, when his lyrics are good (walk on water), his flow sucks....

Like he can't combine these two things together anymore.

To complicate things I could say that on Relapse beats were good but everything else s----d... but I don't want to be cruel to him.

I respect this song so much. How deep he really got into all the insecurities that comes with his craft. His frustration with the mumble rap sound.

I personally agree with Eminem here. Can’t bash on his unique world play and flows; when you have mumble rappers sounding like they suffer from down syndrome on a beat.

Agree with everything you said Koolo.....but.....his brilliant lyricism is not compensating for his stutter flow where he tries to cram way too much in and cannot ride a beat at all. It honestly makes the music hard to listen to.

Sometimes I wish Em would take the instrumentals from Til I Collapse, SFTM, and Soldier and re-record those songs with new lyrics that he wrote today, to see if he could teach himself again how to drop lyrics and flow that actually allow him to ride over a beat.

Truth. Great post.

Also, I can't tell if he meant a pun with 'but as' as 'butter' in that first line. Seems likely, 'butter fingers' is a common concept and he's talking about losing grip, plus unlikely he wouldn't notice that or it'd be by accident.

So that's some more dope wordplay, then when he says 'butter... flies' maybe he was also doubling back on the butter s---.
