Would you have any reasoning as to why were kept in the dark this whole time, i get that things change but to not update us since last october seems a little extreme

So we've gotta wait another 7 months to hear an album which is basically done, all because of ems weirdly sentimental OCD's about being clean for 10 years??

To be honest, that much in itself, makes me worry about this album.

If he's this picky about dates FFS, whats he gonna be like on the tracks? I have a fear he gonna be trying way too hard, and he's gonna go overly technical.

Eminem is one of the greatest rappers of all time, but we don't see him or hear from him much. If he's not promoting a new record or touring, he's usually tucked away from the public. With all signs pointing to him releasing a new record this year, 50 gave The Breakfast Club some insight into Em's reclusiveness - and gave his idea of how Em should drop his next album.

"He's from that period where not being available sustains your energy, and I don't think that's how you have to sustain it now. As long as you stay current with things that are in front of you to sustain your relevance, you can just be there," 50 says.

"People see you, and the visibility will make you matter. Whereas now, if you go out, you have to re-excite me," he continues, speaking from the perspective of a new generation of music fans. "'Why should I be excited about this? I haven't seen him in Lord knows how long.'"

Eminem's prime was in the late 90s and early 2000s, where an artist would be reclusive for between albums and touring. An album rollout would then include months of promotion, multiple singles, and more. But 50, a former signee under Em and Dr. Dre with Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment, seems to be suggesting Eminem should take the surprise or short notice release format that has become more popular in recent years.

"You know what I think he should do? I want him to just come out," 50 Cent said.

The last Eminem album, Marshall Mathers LP 2, dropped in 2013 and earned him a Grammy Award and 3.8 million copies sold worldwide. He told fans in Oct. 2016 that he was working on a new album, and dropped the song "Campaign Speech" to satisfy them in the meantime.

but Fif didn't say anything about the album??? Interesting what he said about Em's success limiting his visibility tho, and it being just how you're supposed to do things. He's not a recluse he's just very very famous.

I remember Em once saying that he doesn't always feel like it's necessary for it to be this big production whenever he has to go anywhere - that he can just move around regular and lowkey, but that the label/mgmt/insurance insist on the fuckton of security and him not being easily accessible.
