    The fact that Revenge is rumoured to be a duet is what makes me think they didn't trade features, they just made this song, prob for his album. Em is the only feature on her album so it's possible Em / Interscope just gave her the song to use on her album. As cross promotion.

    It's not his first single.

    It's an interesting idea to have the song on both albums if it was a concept album and it fit in somehow.

    But let's be honest, if the track is on his album as well, everybody is just going to skip that track on their first listen of the album because they heard it a month earlier.

    It would be another case of a good song being cut from the album just for the sake of fitting a song with a female hook, similar to how Survival came out. They couldve just released that song and not had it on the album and put in a better song in its place.
