Em definitely gearing up to drop an album but doubt it's the surprise release considering the November date is circulating and they would want to cash in on the hype leading up to it even if it's not true. maybe a single if we're lucky but we're not lucky f--- paul it's probably some other white pop star nobody should care about in 2017

like i said, the only thing that doesn't completely erase the idea of a surprise release from potential is that Em hasn't dropped an album in the streaming era, so they could have a new approach. It's good to see that Em can still get in the news these days, though. He was trending the other night and still got a lot of press at the Pistons game. I wonder how much the label has to do with news outlets putting this s--- out. The Cypher was gonna be huge regardless, idk about the Pistons game....

but the fact that he had a big thing center court for the Pistons game shows that he's actively trying to get back in the forefront of people's minds.

Also HDD said "expected album". The general public is expecting Eminem. Not a lot of people know JT is coming. Other the those two and maybe Selena I dont know who else would "have the industry buzzing."

Also what times are surprise releases announced? Hours before? Literally 12 Eastern? I've never followed one before.

but it does also say "along with other expected Q4 releases" and they've been "expecting" a Q4 release for Eminem for awhile. so we'll see I guess. we'll know by tonight, right? or next week?

Yeah, at least with Beyonce there was no announcement whatsoever, and it just released at 12 eastern.

up to the labels. kendrick's "surprise" was announced like a week or two prior, and nobody even expected an album at that point. like I'm a huge Kendrick stan and didn't even know he was really working on an album. Beyonce, who kicked off the whole surprise release thing, literally put her album on Tidal and was like "go get my album here now". Others have been a few days to a week before, or the day of. It won't really be easy to predict if it is legitimately a "surprise" release
