I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Recovery was basically a giant f---ing apology and begging for acceptance.

It is an entirely new album what are you talking about. All Relapse material was made by Dre and in that style, it's obvious as f---... it's completely different music entirely.

He only scrapped R2 and began working on new material with new produced after public backlash (fans too) from Relapse.

He probably expected everyone to love it and R2 was a continuation of that; when they didn't - he made entirely new material bringing in big features, pop-rack production and apologizing. Not about critics, he probably thought fans didn't like it either and was paranoid he was going to no longer be relevant and that his comeback was a failure.

Other than the fact this is completely obvious to anybody who followed the release of both albums and the fact it's completely different music from different sessions... and the fact he's apologizing for Relapse on Recovery! (how is it possibly R2 or ever began as that if he's apologizing for the style on the very album lol) - he so much as said it himself in 100 ways around the time... after he clearly fkn scrapped R2 material and responded.

I cba to bring up every interview or go digging, but it's ridiculously obvious.

I don't know why you find this so hard to believe when Eminem has ALWAYS responded to critics and fans with the following album.

Think about it,

Right from Infinite - he got a "ehh. Sounds like AZ" type response, and he flipped it and created a whole new style. And he himself has confirmed he went a different direction purely due to reaction, then with MMLP... he wanted to be taken more seriously as an artist, then TES prove he wasn't just a provocateur...

Almost every album is him responding to criticism of the previous album in some way. He's reactionary and always has been.

Relapse 2 was not finished there is no way, yes he received feedback but that doesn't mean the album was finished he was still working on it and while he was working on it he gotten horrible feedback and change the direction and made Recovery

"Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Okay so then you've just said yourself he changed direction and made a new album in response to horrible feedback. So what are we disagreeing about here lol?

Also it was finished. Again I cba to dig up interviews but I followed the release of Relapse very closely at the time, I remember, he spoke and aluded to the fact he had two albums done and wrapped.

Then feedback on R1 happened and so he ditched R2 entirely and made Recovery. It's a direct response, it's not R2 in any way, it's different sessions, new music, new producers and a totally separate album.

Relapse 2 was always supposed to feature more outside production from producers other than Dre, hence why you had him working with producers like Alchemist and Mr. Porter for it. In fact, it was sessions with Just Blaze for Relapse 2 that resulted in the title change. It's very likely that Relapse 2, if it came out, would've had songs like Cocaine, On Fire, Cold Wind Blows, Ridaz, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Going Through Changes, So Bad, and Untitled on it anyways.

Essentially, it would've been the MMLP to Relapse's SSLP. The "apology" songs and overly poppy songs are likely the only ones that were made after the decision to switch titles.

Completely disagree.

Followed entire Relapse release and commentary. It was made in a particular style, with Dre, hence why all the Refill s--- sounds exaclty like Relapse 1. It was a style of music they made together.

Cocaine, Cold Wind Blows... All that s--- is Recovery style. It's entirely different music that he made in response to bad Relapse feedback. It sounds absolutely nothing like Relapse music.

There's also an interview I was coindientally replaying yesterday I remember, around Recovery, where he even separates the material himself and said all the R2 material is in the trash. And he'll maybe keep some of it for something else, but that Recovery is all new s---.

But it's cool, we can just disagree on that.
