    But it’s the era of the surprise release though.

    If that were the case, wouldn't every white rapper be popular?

    If you think they are going to go four months between first single and album release, then you are not familiar with past album promotions.

    The point i'm making is that 4 months is closer to reality than 0.5 months.

    Take Berserk (august) to MMLP2 release (Nov) for example, 3 months.

    You can choose to believe whatever you wish, i will only tell you what the facts are..

    The objective of marketing is to create awareness.

    With previous releases, social media in particular was nowhere near as powerful as it is today.

    Due to the lag between message going out and consumers understanding it, they almost needed those lead times between reveal, single and album delivery.

    Nowadays the lag between a message going out and consumers reacting is almost minimal, so I don't believe it'll be another 4 month exercise.
    Generally people's attention spans are a lot shorter too, so a quickfire month of hype then a release is A LOT more effective than puzzle pieces scattered over a third of a year.

    Lol, Em isn't popular cause he drops an album and goes away, that's r-----ed, he can be popular by releasing tons of music, consistently, but that's immaterial, he is popular cause of his music he releases it impacts an incredibly large audience cause they can all relate to it. Also once you get your name out, it's easy to people to know you.

    Yeah but the classics are very technical. I think thats just where he was at then. I think the blend of max technical and max content and max musicality leads to classic. Like Drug Ballad. Almost entire sentences rhyming like relapse s---, not like he wasnt technical back then.

    Not really. His earlier albums was about a month gap. Recovery... Not afraid was released end of April and album came in June. Less than 2 mnths
