actually a song called "Dear Stan" makes sense if he's making it as another "letter to his fans". But he did that with Walk On Water so I don't think he'll do that again. ESPECIALLY not with another single.

Yet again, it was another late, sleepless night in Detroit. The studio was packed, yet intimate all at the same time. Warm amber lights washed over exotic leather furniture, creating a dimly lit sonic oasis. A sweet aroma of weed smoke clouded the air, while vanilla scented candles were strategically placed around the room. The mood developed into a haze of relaxation. As Rick Rubin methodically worked the mixing boards, Paul and the rest of entourage nodded along to a rough take of a track that would later become "Walk on Water". Many individuals in the studio danced along while Rubin ran the track back, but there stood Eminem in a dark corner, dissecting every piece of it with surgical precision. The track stopped playing, and Eminem stepped from the shadows. He didn't speak much, but when he did, people listened.

"I'm going back in the booth, play that s--- back."

Puzzled, Rubin began playing the song back, not questioning Eminem's demands. The room fell quiet as people began to observe. As the track began to play, Eminem put on a pair of monitor headphones, rubbed his beard and began to take a drink of a dark, murky substance. Closing his eyes, Eminem began to flow freely.

"There was a time I had the world by the balls, eatin' out my palm. Every album song I was spazzin' the f--- out on. And now I'm gettin' clowned and frowned on. But the only one who's looking down on me that matters now's DeShaun." Paul and entourage members in the studio began to look around the room to see if others were witnessing what was happening. Eminem continued crooning into the microphone, while the mood became even darker in the studio.

"Am I lucky to be around this long? Begs the question though. Especially after the methadone. As yesterday fades and the Dresden home is burnt to the ground, and all that's left of my house is lawn. The crowds are gone. And it's time to wash out the blonde. Sales decline, the curtain's drawn." Rubin looked over to Paul with concern. He whispered, "should we stop him?". Paul then put up one finger, as to silence Rubin while shaking his head, not taking his eyes off of Eminem.

"I know the mark's high, butterflies rip apart my stomach. Knowin' that no matter what bars I come with you're gonna harp, gripe. And that's a hard Vicodin to swallow, so I scrap these as pressure increases like khakis. I feel the ice cracking." Candles in the studio began to flicker and die out, one by one, as if a spirit swept throughout the room.

"They're closin' the set, I'm still pokin' my head from out behind. And everyone who has doubt, remind. Now take your best rhyme, outdo it, now do it a thousand times. Now let 'em tell ya the world no longer cares or gives a f--- about your rhymes. And as I grow outta sight, outta mind, I might go outta mine 'cause how do I ever let this mic go without a fight. When I made a f---in' tightrope outta twine?" By now, everyone had stopped what they were doing, all attention was focused on the darkened silhouette in the recording booth. Finishing up his final thoughts, Eminem hung up the headphones, took another sip of muddy water, and crept out of the recording booth.

As he came back into the studio, all eyes followed his every movement. Eminem retreated back to his shadowed corner, where he leaned against the wall with his fingers interlocked and pressed against his lips, as if in deep thought. The silence of the room created an uneasy tension. The uneasiness built more and more, as studio members waited for him to speak. Finally, he broke the silence.

"Play it back."
