If they don’t do anything else it’s going to be his worst first week of sales ever. Walk on Water did not create any buzz. I’m sure they have something planned. At the end of the day it’s still a business.

What some people need to realise is that it's not Eminem who isn't promoting the album, it's the label.

Eminem isn't in charge of when things like singles and tracklist etc get released, it's the label's decision.

And it's a very odd thing that the label hasn't been doing anything like that building up to this last week and a half before release.

They are possibly just hoping that they can go basically the same route that they did with Kendrick's album and keep promotion short and sweet but at least Kendrick's album was heavily promoted.

I don't disagree that sales will be worst of all time but they seem like they've given up. It's too close to the release date to do anything that'll create mega hype, even if they release the tracklist or anything that's like a day's worth of hype and only for hardcore fans. If they want to create national hype, they'd have to do something out of nowhere and it would have to be HUGE. Like projections all over the world like Ye did with yeezus. I think that's what they were going for with Revival and that failed so they're shrugging it off and saying "f--- it we'll just drop the album who cares Em gonna do numbers anyways."
I want to believe they'll do something huge but it's just too late in the promotion cycle for that. I hope I'm wrong, though.

This promotion was very weird to be fair. I can't tell if that's intentional or if something was f----- up along the way. If something didn't go the way they expected, if they abandoned their promotion altogether for whatever reason...I don't know. But it's no secret that the hype around here/social media/other forums is at an all time low compared to previous rollouts and i don't think Em's aging is the only thing contributing to that. When I'm off work I want to delve into it more because it is very interesting and I'm hoping they have something up their sleeve in this next week but I extremely doubt it. There's no way that the 17th wasn't their original date with the EMA's, shade45 interview, and the SNL appearance. Nobody goes on SNL just to perform 2 old songs and 1 new single and says nothing about their upcoming album. This is perplexing and I really don't think Interscope would drop the ball with literally their biggest artist of all time.

I get how sales wise this roll out so far isn’t smart and for a fan it’s boring but that doesn’t change the fact a new eminem album is coming out in 10 days. Sure might be hard to get hyped for the cd now but regardless the closer we get especially the day of release why the f--- would anyone care about what they did or didn’t do when we’ll be hearing it? Some of you just need to get over it and go outside
