Okay first of all - no.

I don't want 'Em to rap like he's 28'. When did I say anything about his rapping? What the flying f--- does that have to do with him not making his own hooks and employing giant popstar names, for the sake of hits and money to do his hooks?... Nothing.

No it's not okay for them to do it, I consider them sell-outs too.

The issue, mainly, is that Eminem has been using this formula for now... 3 albums in a row. It worked with 'Recovery' because it was the first time he did it, so it was surprising but the album is also consistent. Those pop features are not out of place, the whole album has that pop-rap-rock production and spacey hooks, so it works. No issues.

With MMLP2 - it felt disjointed as f--- because Rihanna singing a flower power hook over a Flo Rida ballerina beat does not at all mesh with Em spazzing out or whispering that he's a rap god over a weird a--- trancey trappy thumping rap beat.

The problem is authenticity. Nothing to do with Eminem's rapping or his skills. I enjoy his modern rapping, which makes this even more frustrating, because it feels like he's smearing s--- over potential classics - perhaps part laziness of not wanting to craft creative hooks himself anymore but I'm sure mostly to make easy hits, easy sales and easy money.

Not only that, but to overdo it to this degree is just ridiculous. We're talking seven feature hooks. I don't really give a s--- about the name, what I do care about is a coherent album experience. And I just don't see how it's going to be possible to have that when you have a) half the album of aggressive Em rap hooks and half the album of airy fairy big ballad poop hooks. The contrast is just too jarring. It ruined MMLP2 and I'm sure it'll ruin Revival as well. That's where the anger is coming from.

Plus it's just f---ing predictable and yawn. Em used to thrive on being unpreditcable. Now he's actually fine for everybody to go 'yawn another 100 pop hooks incoming' and then actually do it. He's worrying about people complaining about his flow speed, how about stop being a tasteless money grabber and taking a giant dump on your legacy with each new CD instead.

I don't want old Em back. You may see other people saying that, but not me, so don't lump me in. I want NEW Eminem, just AUTHENTIC Eminem. Calling the biggest names on the planet to sing another predictable power hook for the charts is not authentic.

Likely 6/10 album incoming. f----- up another one.

Kanye isn't even my favorite artist. Shut the f--- up. I couldn't care less about recovery's sales, or sales in general. I care about the quality of content. And especially the past four years has been for the most part disappointments for those who were once Em fans. Southpaw soundtrack was awful, ShadyXV was just bad with 1 or 2 exceptions from Em. And a lot of bad guest verses, with some good ones. And Campaign Speech is probably the hardest to listen to freestyle he's ever put out.
