Warning. Incoming wall of text so I will not be offended if you or anyone else doesn't read it...

I agree. This is definitely my biggest concern. Way more than the features, or lack of features, and the various producers involved. The songs could end up sounding incredible for all we know. But the thought of this album sounding like another playlist of random songs lowers my expectations a bit, especially after seeing this is exactly what happened with MMLP2.

Having said that, based on the Porter interview, it sounds like there were a core group of people involved in creating the entire album from the early stages. If this is true, then I have faith there will be a similar, cohesive sound or theme throughout the album.

But that wasn't even my original purpose of replying. The main thing I wanted to say is, I'm truly shocked eminem cares SO much about the critics. I get it, he's susceptible to criticism like the rest of us. But the fact we keep seeing this central theme in every interview he, or someone from his team, does is a little disheartening. I mean, this dude literally not only made a career out of, but dominated rap for several years, not giving a single f--- what anyone thought about him or his music. I won't lie, part of me wishes he just made the music he wanted and stopped trying to please everyone, for better or worse. But there are clear pros and cons to this approach. No easy answers that's for sure.

I'm not shi--ing on him by any means. Yes my expectations are slightly lowered and I'm cautiously optimistic about the quality of Revival, but I'm also fully prepared to experience the best post hiatus album. It could go either way. And I'm excited to see how this plays out.
