    Listening to some old Em to get pumped for this (terrible idea to listen to TES before a 2017 Eminem album) and it always baffles me how much natural his flow was compared to now, and I think the difference is in the beats he produced. Like for White America, the drums are slow and trudging along, and he just raps along with them clearly and deliberately. The worst mistake he ever made was outsourcing his production outside of his camp.

    just had a thought

    it’s the streaming era, things have changed. one thing has changed for certain - deluxe edition albums are stupid as h--- and quite frankly pointless. albums are already becoming a lost art, and a bonus disc is now a waste of everyone’s time

    but there’s another route that makes incredible sense in the streaming era. it’s already been pioneered, to great success, by good ol frank ocean. what do frank ocean and eminem have in common (besides being gay as h---)? they both have very popular radio platforms

    frank took a long hiatus before coming out with 2 albums, then immediately followed up with a string of non album singles and remixes with high profile features, all of which premiered on his Blonded radio show and went on to wide critical acclaim

    imagine if em adopts the GOOD Friday model and starts popping out a new track every week on Shade 45 from now until spring
