There are great songs on the album more authentic Em, which will be appreciated more over time. For some people its such a different style musically, its like an ice bucket over the head..Example---Nobody understood Pink Floyd when they came out...This album will take a few listens to appreciate it better. Some fans who stick only to mainstream rap, may not like it,and get off the Em boat,which, honestly I think he'd prefer- I.E- the low key buildup to the album. Its not party music. Its Dense musically..I like the rock influence, thats part of what made TES great for me. What distracted me as I listened was this sense of that talk that starts with a boyfriend girlfriend, that at some point theyre gonnna get to the part 'Were Breaking Up' - In this case I do feel like us the fans have pushed him to being frustrated with Rap..Technical executuion of Rhymes hes GOAT, and we keep pushing him instead of letting him rhyme. Besides that, If he had gone in with some sick slim shady verses on certain tracks. He doesnt have anything to prove, but I love when he does showcase, putting the game on notice..

I can't say the album is what I was expecting to be but I did expect a few great songs and I got what I wanted just like on previous albums, I'm just really dissapointed that the lows of it are extremely bad, this really should've been a shorter album

"i'm hoping to god we get a two in one music video with castle + arose. no song has put me in tears like this before, it's a more powerful concept than stan tbh. it came straight from the heart and punched right through me

still, i know this album's gonna get hit with mixed reviews. i loved 3/4 of it but the other 1/4 had either s--- hooks or bad production (i was fraAAAAMMEED). offended could have easily been rap god 2.0 if not for the awful hook that just broke up the song entirely, i'm waiting for someone to remix it without the hook so i can listen to it on the regular. the intentions of having a 'little of something for everyone' were great but in the end it lacked cohesiveness, as if i was listening to a hits album or something

you guys should have known what to expect when he said he was making something for everyone. this album is still gonna sell like candy due to his brand and the features, and the broader populace are probably gonna enjoy it for what it is. they'll take their favourite songs from the album and make a playlist out of them, and if you're that conflicted about this album then that's what you should be doing too.

he's easily got at least one more album left in him. he's shown that he can flow and tell a story like TES eminem on castle + arose, the lyrical/technical side to him hasn't gone away at all (offended verses, etc). he's surrounded himself with yes men and it's hampered him severely, he needs constructive criticism, something that i hope joe budden's willing to actually give to give to em if they ever meet again after that episode of everyday struggle. it'll be hard for him to push rick rubin away from production since he idolizes him but if he pulls it off and links up with actual modern producers and people who don't live in the past then his next album is sure to be a hit (that, and featuring actual rappers as features, and maybe like 1/2 pop artists to stay on the radio).

f--- this experimental s---, he needs to take what he knows he excels in and make a classic out of it. i know he's tried to do something different with each release, but this is getting ridiculous when everybody knows and can SEE what he's capable of as an artist.

honestly watch him light a fire under his a--- and throw out an album in response to the mixed critics in a year or so. i have faith in him to put out another album that'll be widely accepted amongst the hiphop community

all around i enjoyed the album a lot. there's a lot of peaks and valleys and the choppy flow grows on you with multiple listens."

ABout to give it a second full listen. Love the album I hope a few songs grow in me because in total I think 4 or 5 songs are extremely awful.

no you don't understand. This whole album just feels like it was made for money grab and I even thought of that way before Joe said it. We got so f---ing anticipated Dr Dre is on the project ,you know he's on the helm but f---ing h---...pink on the album...untouchable... I'm not buying this album we got lied that this will actually be a decent project.

My biggest disappointment was the Alicia Keys feature. With a voice like hers, I definitely thought we were going to get some kind of heart felt emotion type song.. for hailie or kim or something in that nature. But we ended up getting some political viva america type of song. Huge disappointment for me honestly. The song I was most looking forward to is a song that I'll probably will never have it on repeat.
