Nowhere Fast grew on me, cool song

Strip away Like Home/Need Me/Nowhere fast and you've got an album that cathers to fans of his previous work though.. He shouldve left those out and replaced them with songs like Believe.. Wouldve been his fourth/fifth classic.

Maybe a Refill can remedy those.

You forgot Bad Husband and Tragic Endings.

I'm assuming you like those? But those cannot be said to be catering to his core fans.

They're cheesy pop choruses and pop rock beats.

I havent made a final decision on Tragic Endings, but Bad Husband is a great song. Those are for the Recovery fans.

Those aren't his core fans. Recovery was made to be a crossover pop success.

I'm not saying he should cater to his core fans either, I think he should make whatever he thinks is dope. I don't believe he is doing that though. His primary goal is trying to please other people and also gain mass exposure, and that's annoying.

With core fans you mean prime Em core fans.. He has a lot of fans that love Recovery though.. Even prime core fans.

I'm not one of them though. I'm like you.. I want him to do his own thing. But i see him doing that on Walk on Water (despite the pop feature), Believe, Chloraeptic, Framed, Offended, Heat, Bad Husband, In Your Head/Castle/Arose.. River is a good song, but its for the LTWYL audience (i personally dig it though, but i like Ed as well so i'm biased).

Still, i would've liked Relapse 2 better then Recovery (i dont like Recovery at all) and it pains me that we'll never know what wouldve happened if Relpase didnt flop..

People woulda eventually gotten tired of his lack of content, his outplayed shock, and the fact that he keeps rapping about the same thing. Em would be in worse shape in many ways.

It was based off a system.
1. Grammys How many wins, noms, if it was the big awards
2. Mtv vmas same thing
3. All other awards shows bet billboard amas etc same thing
4. Music videos
5. Videos with live award performances, then following if it got mainstream radio play
6. Videos with either concert performances
7. Videos with radio play
7. Videos
8. Songs with Concert performances and how often
9. Radio play / played on tv / got some exposure
10. Fan favorites left over that didn't meet criteria above.
I predicted for now where revival singles would land, but all before revival would end in this order. My personal order would for example be something like in order lose yourself, Stan, sing for the moment, way I am, deja Vu, renegade, forgot about Dre, till I collapse, rock bottom, space bound, spend some time, going through changes, 8 mile, criminal, say goodbye Hollywood, arose, Castle, k--- you, square dance, drug ballad.
But I also like seeing how successful songs are as a whole, beyond bumping just personal favorites.
My favorite list above for MY top 20 is legit.

Yeah, he already lost shock value by the time Relapse was released. The world isnt easily shocked anymore..

I dont know man, at least he wouldve been confident.. that would sure as h--- have influenced his content.

I disagree. With all these people who get offended so easily, there are enough subjects to still shock the world with. People were more indifferent when he released his first album.
The topics might differ, but people are softer than they were back then.

Nowadays everybody needs a 'safe space' because words do hurt.
