He has to find inspiration to make albums these days. He's in that stage of his career. So it will take time. This is one of the reasons I think he needs to stop thinking he needs to fill out the entire 80 minute disc. If he just put out a 11-12 song album it would probably be amazing. Actually had he just cut a few songs and added in a couple of the bonus tracks on MMLP2 it could have been a much more cohesive album. He just recorded way too many songs for that album and picked some of the wrong ones for the main disc. Sometimes more is less. I get he used to be able to fill out a disc and make it work but he can't anymore.

That would help with his choppy flow. I feel he thinks he's not doing enough by rapping over the beat normally. He tries too hard.

Which is why he was so beastly 1996-2002; he had a lot of inspiration and things going on in his personal life: his pre-1999 financial status, his 2000 indictment from assaulting John Guerra, his "baby momma drama" with Kim, his (non-pill) drug use, etc.

Exactly. The inspiration just used to come naturally. He just ran out of things to say. Dude is practically a recluse now so it's not like he can rap about the things he sees around him anymore.

not album related but I saw a tweet saying "Logic is an ideal role model for fans, Eminem barely tweets by himself" meaning Eminem doesn't even contact with his fans anymore at all. I kinda agree with this tweet tbh, I know Em appreciates his fanbase but dude needs to start showing it too! I mean ok, he doesn't even drop new s--- at least he could use Social Media more often to keep his fanbase "alive" instead of being silent for a year or so like he's dead, what do you guys think?
P.S Sorry if my English are bad

    Totally agree.

I think many place more emphasis on style than in his source inspiration. As in; Recovery era or MMLP2 styles I think would have probably resulted in amazing albums in those time periods also, and less inconsistency and cheese, simply because his inspiration was so strong. He had so much to work with.

Which is why it's going to be fairly impossible for him to top MMLP. He can be very creative - abstract, conceptual etc. but only when he has some s--- smashing him in the face to react to. Whereas some rappers don't need situations that strong to draw inspiration from...

But yeah, that's such a key point for the prime era - nobody knew what to expect, and he had so much to work with. That's really the true crux to why that material is so golden. Not drugs or other stupid s--- people attribute to it.

I agree, but I also think that it's kind of a choice. So much of his content came from his personal life with his family/daughters/baby mother, but I think he sacrificed being able to rap about those things the way he used to in order to protect them and their privacy.

I'm sure he still goes through drama with Kim, I'm sure there's things he still could or would wanna write about that he goes through with his kids, or his gf if he has one. I'm sure his personal life is full of content, (even though WE don't see him everyday.) I just think he chooses not to rap about it as loosely and as easily as he used to since he got clean and really looked at how that fame and attention affected their ability to lead normal lives.

So it's really hard to be mad at him for that, even though we as fans lose out. I can't really do anything but respect him as a father and as a man for making a completely unselfish decision to lose soooo much of what inspires his content, for the sake of protecting his family.
I'm sure it's hard for him too, since he's pretty much depleted his drug addiction content, he's in an awkward stage I guess where he's still trying to find things to rap about that are personal but not exploitative of his family. He'll figure it out tho, I'm sure. In the meantime #manholecover

Yo he should make the opening track about this very subject matter.

That would be sick. Clever too... because it reveals a lot... but also in admitting it, you don't then have to disclose any more personal info. All he has to do is touch on the fact that he feels like he no longer can.

s--- would be the best song since GOF.

    It's never coming out.

He can't make an album to compete with d---, and i think he knows it. He's left the booth behind IMO.

    Marshall the family man.
