TES. It my have lower lows, but imo its highs are higher. Eminem was beginning to come into his own as a producer at the time as well.
Sing for the Moment, Till I Collapse, Haillie's Song (despite the singing), Without Me, White America, Saying Goodbye to Hollywood, Soldier.

MMLP though of course was fantastic. It probably was the album where Eminem was at his peak as an MC. The Way I am, Stan, Remember Me, I'm Back, b---- Please II, Marshall Mathers etc. all showed this. Lyrically and technically he was on point.

You can say that songs like Marshall Mathers are a disadvantage in MMLP. That it may not hold up as well for in future generations due to the dated references (NSYNC etc. many I had to look up lol) but then you could also say that is good because it captures Eminem's feelings on pop culture at the time, and is a great and entertaining general commentary on late 90s, early 2000s pop culture from his perspective.

However overall, I feel TES is the more polished project in all areas, from production to Eminem's state of mind.

I've said it before but I think it mostly comes down to age.
I was 16 (maybe) when MMLP came out, so the "not give a f---" attitude sat with me better.

TES was a more mature album compared to MMLP, not where I was at the time.

I agree that TES as a project is better as a whole but MMLP was just better at being raw.

SSLP was my favorite from a technical standpoint. He went off that whole album and it was just raaawww. Mmlp was there perfect mix of a polished and raw album. Tes was a perfectly polished album

    TES

But btw for those saying Eminem was at his peak as a rapper on MMLP, no, it was definitely on Devil's Night.

MMLP, is by far his best work. I don't get the OVERRATED love for TES... it's not even his best album, SSLP is better that one as well.

Difficult decision for me. I'd probably say TES. It feels better put together, and tbh, I like the way his vocals sound on it better

Both albums are classics, and both are 10/10s. Honestly which album is better is just a matter of personal preference. MMLP is his darkest album and when Eminem was at his most controversial. TES is more personal, more emotional, and when he was at his peak of popularity. I personally think he improved slightly with each project after SSLP until he peaked on the 8 Mile Soundtrack. So therefore, I say I think TES is the better album and his best solo album. It has the best content of any of his albums, the best variety of songs, and Em was at his peak both as a rapper and a producer.

Ehhh I don't think TES has a song as bad as Amityville or Kim on it.

Why do people think Kim is bad? That s--- is f---ing phenomenal. It's storytelling at its best and the song is so personal and dark I still get uncomfortable listening to it this day. Not to mention that hook >* One of the best songs of his career.

MMLP is my fav album of all time. its what got me into rap. TES is not far behind it though, i just feel like it has more skippable tracks then MMLP (business, drips, swys, wtms). i only skip amityville on MMLP, and sometimes Kim if im in a real happy mood lol.

although im gonna throw this out there, without me is eminems best first single from his solo albums (not counting lose yourself coz its from a soundtrack)

Basically him just screaming at his wife for screwing him over throughout the entire song, not really a entertatining song to listen to. Unless you are a psycho and love seeing your ears bleed.

The only thing that is good about is that he can make a really good imitation of a girl scream.

mmlp is way more pure rap than TES(both are great). MMLp was a real hip hop album going diamond,TES was more radio frendly(which is fine ,was still hip hop).
MMLP easily for me,I dont find any lows on this album, just angry eminem doing his thing for 17 tracks long of pure hip hop.CLASSIC.

I really miss songs like way I am and the real slim shady, why cant he do that anymore? its like complete opposite crap now.

the way I am is not really radio friendly but was one of his best single ever. THe song is just perfect, I dont know how to say but it doesnt feel like a song, it just perfectly goes to your ear like its natural or something.
