Jul 1, 2024 No not using too much is corny. Wayne's writing that I give there that specific example is corny. Stop trying to generalise, as opposed to just dealing with the exact example we're talking about. Any amount of poetic or anything is good... if it's good. That Wayne writing is s---.
Jul 1, 2024 Y'all the most out of touch fanbase in this world ever. Imagine not getting excited when your favourite rapper is breaking his music boundaries and collaborating with younger and different talent. And lets not act like rappers don't trade songs for their albums and the songs and projects as a whole turn out to be great or even classic. Utopia had bunch of Kanye rejects and he managed to make them sound super incredible with his ear for beats and vocal skill. Young Thug/Future/Gunna/Lil Uzi Vert/Playboi Carti/Travis Scott keep trading, cutting and changing songs which turn out to be great and fit the vibe of a certain project. The sounds, verses, hooks keep changing depending on the project they're on. Future Sounds was a potential classic sitting in ruins of Ye's hard disk and was completely different untill Travis made it into Telekenisis and included a fine Future verse and a 10/10 verse from SZA. Take Care was Drake allegedly stealing Weekend's stuff but that s--- remains some of his best ever work and a classic. The No More Parties in LA beat was with Freddie but Kanye and Kendrick made a classic out of it. Big Sean put out Friday Night Cypher which had multiple beat switch ups showcasing different sides of Detroit and the Eminem verse fit there like a glove.
Jul 1, 2024 Yeah. Imagine the hype if this was some fire conceptual s--- with Kendrick on for example. Or just himself. Instead, we get tobey maguire was bit by a spider with big sean and baby voltron or w.e
Jul 1, 2024 @Ripper Roo listen, this is gonna be autistic af, but on my way to work I think I found some similarities between the crash bandicoot games and Em's discography
Jul 1, 2024 I thought Joyner's verse was better and I probably heard about two Joyner songs in my life
Jul 1, 2024 He at least adds a little artstry or taste with some of the visuals and visual concepts though. Like, 'Gnat' woulda been wayyyy cornier in the hands of like Joseph Kahn.
Jul 1, 2024 thanks, but hey there's still a chance I'll like this if the verses were changed or Em's verse is so good that I don't mind the rest a la "unacommodating"
Jul 1, 2024 It’s more the fact that I thought we were getting a well-crafted album 4 years in the making, but having some Lyrical Lemonade leftover as the 2nd single is ringing alarm bells, you can’t ignore the implications of that surely? I’m trying to reserve judgement as much as possible, but I remember doing the same with Revival, coping my way through that whole roll-out after the track list & the singles dropped, & everyone who saw the writing on the wall was correct to complain lol.
Jul 1, 2024 I don't need to stop something I never started, I'm specifically talking about that verse and that's where the "using allegories" comes from. not sure what you thought you read. And it isn't s---, but again, your taste is your taste and you're trying to set objective parameters while being unfair and extremely subjective. I'm not arguing with your taste but don't talk to me about mumbo jumbo and what makes good writing when you're the same dude who thinks technical rapping is overrated and unimpressive
Jul 1, 2024 Did u listen to the leak?? If u did that’s prolly why.. I’ve avoided the leak so I’m hyped as h--- for the release
Jul 1, 2024 Yeah fair, the only thing I can see realistically being changed is the Cole Bennett line on Sean's verse tbh
Jul 1, 2024 Fax. And unfortunately you can see the writing on the wall with Em now, we've all learned. If something looks bad, it's porbably gonna be bad. I'm not saying the whole album will be bad. But, this is not looking good for... what we were hoping for @ a coheisve concept album. I would say at least he hasn't ruined it with pop feats / chart grabs in that respect. But, then again... 'The Monster' was the 4th MMLP2 single, so, we really don't know what's to come.
Jul 1, 2024 great point , just need more patience from the forum considering we have been waiting for new Eminem for 3-4 years
