Jul 6, 2024 Hello to all at Section Eighty (I remember when @Koolo thought this was going to be a Kendrick Lamar forum lmfao. Now it’s still just an Eminem Thread Forum like it always has been.) I digress. For those that don’t know, some call me a legend around these parts. Been around since Rap Basement, used to be a mod until @JMG blamed me for abusing the Twitter account and posting about MAGA and cream pies. That’s a story for another time. I used to be very active on this forum, top commentator every month, mod status, etc. Unfortunately the new crowd that was ushered in around MBDTF A and B was even too weird and rude for my tastes. Felt like I was talking to school shooter types for the most part. Lots of hate and creepy s--- I didn’t want to be a part of and still don’t. For those that care, life has been good. This feels like a good time to pop in and enjoy (or not) the new album before I leave for another four years. Also for the those that don’t know, I have controversialopinions of Eminem’s music (as I’ve been told). Most call me a troll, but that is just not true. I have plenty of people on SXN80that I have talked to personally that know this isn’t a character I’m playing (that’s just f---ing weird. Playing a character for 20 years since 2004? Not even I am that dedicated or r-----ed.) @DKC @Ricky @JMG @M Solo @bobby Creekwater can all attest to this. History doesn’t lie or troll, gentlemen. Eminem is one of my favorites artists, obviously. I’m in my 30’s. Old enough to have been around and listened to the overrated SSLP when it dropped. At the time is was magnificent. Hasn’t aged well, but once again that’s something you can ask me about on this thread. Feel free to treat this as an AMA if you want. So I have seen, heard, and experienced it all with Eminemthrough the decades. We all like Eminem for different reason. I prefer a certain style of his. To give you more context, I believe his best era was 2011-2017. Again, feel free to ask me about it if you are interested. For even more context, here is how I rank his albums. Jul 6, 2024 Jeez my man you really don't have to take everything to heart like that. most of these bozos like to pretend they're not even real eminem fans for impressions but some valid criticism exists. it's because of how rich and famous and big he is that it's unacceptable that his vocals sometimes sound muddy. sounded like s--- for the entirety of Revival minus a couple of songs. some good (terrible) recent examples are the feature with snoop, parables, killer rmx and now Tobey. listen to big sean's verse then skip immediately to the beginning of eminem's verse. it sounds like you're listening to it on speakers while sticking two middle fingers in your ears. biggest rapper in the world and all.
