Jul 7, 2024 But I'd rather make "Not Afraid 2" Than make another motherfuckin' "We Made You" Eminem is the most contradictory artist ever.
Jul 7, 2024 It isn't. Song could still be great regardless of features. People just have Revival PTSD or some s---.
Jul 7, 2024 It’s the other singers trying to sing it like her, Alicia lost her whole identity for nothing. Only Rih knew how to to that s--- right Even Queen B couldn’t sing Walk On Water the way Bald Sky does.
Jul 7, 2024 at the time this came out I think he believed this. he's clearly having more fun with music now than he was when guts over fear dropped.
Jul 7, 2024 I feel like he doesn't even believe that s--- most of the time, he just says what he thinks casual fans and the general public wanna hear him say, except for when he defends revival, he obviously chose the worst hill to die on lol
Jul 7, 2024 Killer Mike is someone I'm surprised he's never worked with. An old head, very lyrical, good presence, can do wacky bars, can do stuff with a message. He's mates with Yelawolf as far as I'm aware too, even featuring on the same album as Em did.
Jul 7, 2024 I'm right there with you hoping that it's great but being realistic, what Skylar song with Em is actually great? and I mean great, not some mid filler type of song, they're gonna start doing great s--- together now? at song attempt #134?
Jul 7, 2024 Probably, yes. But it's not just about that particular line. He's constantly said one thing and then done the opposite years later. I might make a whole list of contradicting statements by Em from one song to another. There are some about Hailie too.
Jul 7, 2024 "Good luck trying to convince a blonde, is like telling Gewn Stefan that she sold out, cuz I was trying to leave no doubt" "I was counting on you to count me out, ask Asher Roth, when he roundabout dissed me to shout me out, thought I was history, well g.d. honkey, that compliment's like backhanding a donkey, good way to get your a--- socked in the mouth" "Mama said there ain't nothing else to talk about! Better go in that ring and knock em out or you better not come out" "even hellen keller knows life stinks, you think its a joke, until your bullet-riddled, but you should give little s--- what I think" "We ain't attractable!" "You're on my a--- but you can't get a cent (scent), cuz all of my spare time's spent" "Only women that I love are my daughters, but sometimes I rhyme, and it sounds like I forget I am a father, and I push it farther, so father forgive me if I forget to draw the line, its apparent I shouldn't have been a parent" "I'm going back to what got me here, yeah cocky and can't knock being rude off, so fear not my dear" "White America's mirror" I swear people never gave this song a chance because of the beat and hook (even tho they actually work well for what the song is)
Jul 7, 2024 I think it feels more contradictory to us because we've been watching his career for so long. average person doesn't have their experiences and growth / collapse recorded for the public. I've changed my opinions on a lot of things throughout my life, I just never recorded them into a song. but who knows. he could just always be full of s---
Jul 7, 2024 Writing is amazing on Asswhole but the production and hook is terrible. Totally ruins the whole thing.
Jul 7, 2024 I think Em has skippable songs on every album, but I don't think that that stops things being classics. It's difficult for someone who diverts so aggressively from silly, to angry, to serious to story telling to hit every mark. There are rap albums where I don't think there's skips, but a lot of those albums are much more risk free than Ems, and probably don't have the highs.
Jul 7, 2024 I think Black Magic is great, but I doubt everyone feels that way. She wrote Love The Way You Lie, though. Arguably if RiRi passed then she would have been on it. She deserves the benefit of the doubt to me.
Jul 7, 2024 Am I alone in thinking that beats in the early 2000s (2000 ~ 2006) were FAR superior compared to beats now? Not just the ones Eminem chose then vs what he chooses now. I mean generally.
