Jul 8, 2024 Dogshit merch and mid video aside I hope you're all still hype! Keep the delusion alive!!!
Jul 8, 2024 Tobey has gotten better the more I’ve listened to it. It also beats the h--- out of Eminem songs he had with slaughterhouse and some others during the 2010s
Jul 8, 2024 uggghhh The Eminem Show was just random songs, so was Encore, so was MMLP. He had songs about everything there, mostly himself and his life, Tobey is not different. He talks about himself and his problems again. I've no idea why people expect him to make an album where every songs are like episodes of a full TV Show and ties to one another. He never ever did that anyway. Not even Relapse was like that as a whole. It's not what makes an album great neither. Mtbmb is pretty great but people don't even acknowledge it. I know ppl like you will find something to complain about on DOSS too regarddless of the quality of the album
Jul 8, 2024 Now that you mention it, it makes sense for the time between TES and MMLP2 to feel longer than MMLP2 until now since a lot of us were adults when MMLP2 dropped. When you're a kid or teenager time goes by slow.
Jul 8, 2024 Youre not wrong at all, I feel like its not the all over the place topics its that they albums don't sound the same throughout For example slim shady lp sounded dark and goofy Mmlp sounded dark and gritty Eminem show sounded big stadium type songs and production Encore even had a similar sound throughout production wise Relapse had dark production and was all produced by dre Recovery sounded like stadium bangers for concerts After that his production and song type have been a mash up of songs trying to please everyone
Jul 8, 2024 While Tobey is not the end of the world, it does s--- to know in advance that there's a song you're going to skip on the album lol. Hopefully the fact that it's an old song for Cole Bennet's album means it will be an odd one out.
Jul 8, 2024 What shocks me is that we've waited 4 years between albums a couple of times but the wait between Encore and Relapse felt ETERNAL, even with CC and "the re up" in between
Jul 8, 2024 Btw I liked the video. Tha Not really, MTBMB flows perfectly. Every track flows to the next one pretty nicely. If we must call it a name, it's trap influenced modernized Em sound without being too much boring a--- trap. Kamikaze was trap. MMLP2 was him going old school with classic rock influence but mostly a bit complex. Revival was very random all over the place like you said but his other albums are not really like that but i have no idea why it's bad. It's fine, I don't wanna listen to 20 similar trap beats back to back. The mashup of various different styles is what Em albums are about. As long as it's good music and somehow the songs are connected nicely to one another, who cares about the rest.
Jul 8, 2024 I completely understand why people have lost faith in the album. However, I still think there’s a big chance that this is a good album
Jul 8, 2024 I'm halfway there, knowing Tobey was recorded years ago gives me a bit more hope, then again he decided to put it on the album, unless he's kept the same style these last 2 years then it's definitely gonna sound out of place and not in a good way like Houdini could be for example
