Jul 12, 2024 This was an extremely interesting listen, and I can't even pick out a song I hate on there, even though I don't think they're all amazing. Hearing old eras of his voice was absolutely surreal. The back and fourth between Eminem vs and the Slim Shady persona concept didn't really feel corny to me. It feels like an album that Eminem actually wanted to create artistically instead of putting promo and sales before everything else. (Although I'm sure it will sell well). It also feels like the album that longtime fans have been waiting for and finally got. I can't wait to see how this settles in to see if I still feel the same about it when the hype dies down. Oh yeah, and it's the first time in a long time where the bonus tracks aren't better than most of the album.

Jul 12, 2024 Eminem really channeled a lot of boomer energy on this album as well. I thought it was fun and charming on Houdini, but after the 10th transgender/ Caitlyn Jenner bar I'm like d--- he's really out of things to talk about. And if I want to be super cynical, the "Breaking News" skit is so embarrassingly tone deaf. As if anyone is going to get that worked up over Eminem's lyrics. We'll see what twitter has to say, and I'm open to being wrong, but I while I can picture a lot of this record being dismissed due to offensive lyrics, but not rising even close to the level of genuine "outrage".
