Oct 17, 2021 Most of MTBMB hits around -6 and -8 LUFS. If you're on spotify turn your volume normalization off. EM still masters his albums to cd level loudness. Spotify will turn things down to -14 lufs but you can bypass that by turn f your volume normalization off. Some artist have different masters made for each service but most dont. They just let the DSP change it to their level.
Oct 17, 2021 Discombobulated, Higher, and a handful of others are fine, but I keep forgetting they exist because there's just too many songs in his discography that I'd rather listen to when I'm in the mood for Emineyum. It's really a shame because obviously he can do better. He's actually come quite a ways since he fell off in 2011/2012, and he's far from terrible, but more often than not he's just so maddeningly mediocre that I tend to exaggerate how bad he's become, and when he drops I have to dramatically lower my standards for him in order to convince myself I'm really enjoying the music, until its replay value quickly expires and in no time I'm religiously listening to MMLP/TES, in awe of how far he's fallen. Happens every time.
