Jul 15, 2024 You can also tell MAGA rappers fan bases are the "I don't listen to rap normally but....." crowd. Absolutely negative skill on top of all the cringe of their image it's very funny.
Jul 15, 2024 I definitely hated eminem doing certain things too even before I cared about critics and reactors and everyone important in my life knows I’m a big fan of his music lmaooo
Jul 15, 2024 I get where you guys are all coming from. I agree that this isn’t “that” good but he is definitely improving as a rapper. Compare this to Dear Slim; it’s way better. I agree it’s not as good as anything on TDOSS though. I don’t see how he is any cornier than someone like Cardi B?
Jul 15, 2024 Nah I don't hear that at all. MTBMB is super low effort compared to this and most everything else on here. Anyone calling this album Side C is musically r-----ed.
Jul 15, 2024 I like every song on this album now. Even Road Rage. I don't have a single skippable track .
Jul 15, 2024 Dr. Dre produces the two liveliest tracks, “Lucifer” and “Road Rage.” JID excels on the otherwise flaccid “Fuel,” while Ez Mil, Babytron, and Jelly Roll shine. They’re all paying their respects, trying (and failing) not to upstage the star. He doesn’t mention Drake; he tiptoes up to Kanye and André 3000 flute jokes, but then chokes; he fumbles the lowest hanging Diddy fruit. His craftiest wordplay is on “Bad One,” where he quips, “You said you’re looking for miniature golf/Thought you said ‘men to jerk off.’” Who writes this s---, seriously? Lol. Flaccid fuel? Men to jerk off line was one of the best on the album? It was one of the worst. Road Rage lively? Again the worst song. Ez Mill out shining Em? Wtf.
Jul 15, 2024 Interesting, the hook and beat feels like a Side B cut ti me but i can see you enjoying the writing more
Jul 15, 2024 again, Complex is a sponsor of his pop up things ... which I guess I'm too old, b/c I don't get them or see how that generates any interest with a bunch of Shady/Eminems walking around Times Square ... anyway... This confirms there's something else coming very soon. JMG just texted me ... FRIDAY, "Shady Lives" BOOK IT
Jul 15, 2024 Listening again now, albums dope. Renaissance, Habits, Trouble, Evil, Bad One, Tobey are all solid songs 2 songs I can do without (Brand New Dance, and Road Rage) but I get why they were added, the beats on those tracks are not good IMO to where I’m instantly turned off from the songs. He has some crazy verses, Lucifer/Antichrist/Fuel great 3 song run. End of Guilty Conscience 2 from 2:40 on is prob my fav part of the album. Ems verse on “Head Honcho” is another verse with good content. “Temporary” - what a change up, s--- had me tearing up
Jul 15, 2024 What in that record sounds like it? If you mean lock it up its one of the few songs i still enjoy
Jul 15, 2024 Same, I don't get how pop ups help more than Em himself doing a few appearances, radio interviews, freestyles, etc.
Jul 15, 2024 These reviews are playing right into what Em was talking about on the album They really heard “Trouble” and don’t think Em doesn’t know what he’s doing “It’s 2024 Em! Who’s trying to cancel you!?” Thats, the point. The Slim Shady character doesn’t work in 2024. We aren’t supposed to cheer for this. He’s making fun of the cancel culture bs. He put out a PSA and people still missed the memo
Jul 15, 2024 it does but it's sounds so much like "Marsh" to me (one of my favorite bs songs from Side A) that I got a soft spot for it
Jul 15, 2024 If you force it to, but I don’t think the album would be sequenced in that way if Eminem actually intended for it to be up to interpretation and work both ways. Guilty Conscience 2 isn’t nearly as effective in the reverse imo, because it lacks context without the previous songs.
