Jul 16, 2024 White America is so underrated, I am always surprised not to see it in more top-5, top-10 lists.
Jul 16, 2024 Shouldn't the 2nd week be great cause Houdini and Tobey pre-release numbers are joining? I must've read that somewhere.
Jul 16, 2024 The next album really should be a political/society critique album. I don't want more about his personal life anymore tbh
Jul 16, 2024 But I feel when Em wants to be serious these days, there's a shift in his mind, that makes him compromise creativity, the vocal layering, good flows, etc. Like, I can't see him doing something like The Ringer, Premonition, Renaissance or even Fall but with politics or society as the only subject matter.

Jul 16, 2024 I don't think it'd work. With political stuff, you want people to understand things almost right away and not get distracted. h---, you even can hear it on Ringer when he slows down and keeps it simple to address more serious stuff.
Jul 16, 2024 That was my theory. Even if it's not exactly that, could be mmlp3 and Eminem show sequel to wrap up the career. Eminem has options here, is there a part 2 to TDOSS? Is this wrapping up slim and begging a new era entirely? Or will he mirror his original 3 album run.
Jul 16, 2024 When you're high, it sounds like a cult leader is screaming at you in a sonically pleasing way, and all you can do is nod your head in hypnosis
Jul 16, 2024 Yeah but you can still notice what I'm talking about on that second part. He strips down the songs when he wants to be serious nowadays. Lead vocal + adlibs + beat. That's it.
Jul 16, 2024 My craziest Eminem opinion is that the FIRST part of Untouchable is 10/10 and the best two minutes on the album.
Jul 16, 2024 Yeah well it's not metric 'giving that' lol, it's a weighted average. But yeah some of the reviews are stupid. And like with a lot of Em reviews... it's often this with Em: - What he was before / comparison to past s--- (vs. just rating this for what it is) - They're on one side or the other before they even start... i.e. pro-Em or anti-Em... It's partly his content, partly bc he's a white rapper, partly a few things... But, it's not good criticism to be like 'well this isn't as good as MMLP' or something, like, it's not 'how good is this vs. that', it's 'how good is this, for what IT is', rate the thing - not your emotions about past work, and also not... I've seen a lot of reviews like disagreeing with s--- he says on there. Wtf is that? It isn't 'how much out of 5 do I agree or disagree with things he says', how r-----ed. Imagine if you rated a horror film 1/5 bc you don't agree with murder. You're supposed to rate THE THING for what THE THING is trying to be, how good was it done - production, the rapping, the hooks... almost none of these things are rated with Em albums like they are with other rappers.. it's always just 'well he wasn't saying what I wanted so it sucks'.
Jul 16, 2024 OK... so you all know by now, I have been acting like a total Stan for this album (I f---ing love it, what can I say), but I have not given ANY consideration to the play it in reverse theories because it didn't seem to make any sense and seemed like such a far reach. But I keep seeing this theory all over social media, so I'm gonna listen to it backward for the first time right now... I will report back in a little over an hour.
