Jul 19, 2024 Well, it's been a week since the album dropped. This isn't a review, but my final thoughts. Love the album. It's better than anything I thought he could ever produce this late in his career. I'm not going to go through all the things I love about it, my 9/10 rating says it all. Some of the gripes I have are the typical things others have said here multiple times; why didn't it stop at GC2; Ez Mil's two verses; the randomness of the Ken Kaniff skit (that was shoehorned in to appease fans imo). The only other thing I'd bring up are the features. JID was awesome and Big Sean's verse was a pleasantly great! However I'd have loved to have seen artists who are close to Em (Dre / 50 / Royce) have an input on the event that was 'the death of Slim Shady'. Dre could have had a song in there about his experience with Slim Shady (first time he was in the booth recording 'My Name Is' for example). However, if rumours are to be believed and a BME album is around the corner then I can understand the exclusion if they appear there. Overall, this was an amazing album that I'll have on repeat for the foreseeable future!
Jul 19, 2024 Still kind of odd that this message does not include (Coup De Grace) in the album title, only "Death of Slim Shady"
Jul 19, 2024 I agree with you on almost everything. My only comment is I'm sure he recorded songs with Dre/50/Royce but didn't make the cut by quality or thematic reasons
Jul 19, 2024 So I tell you that I will rhyme without censorship I speak of God, I speak of Lucifer and how hard life is I'm here with my brother zero in the scheme unfolds in rhyme in life and problems If you know, the partnership belongs to Miliano connection was from sp now Jaguariúna dominating I destroy these half-assed MCs live freestyle but what else do they say? it's "it's on" and they don't develop the idea so I steal your audience with the elaborate pen the beat is really foreign but the rhyme is not imported just connect with this turn the flow strolls and glides the original track is by Eminem but in this one I'm the artist
Jul 19, 2024 Maybe a hot take, but that Ariana Grande concert line on MTBMB was more controversial than anything he said on TDOSS
Jul 19, 2024 I agree on that plus another problem is the filter effect on the drums during the last verse. Apart from that my fav song for sure.
Jul 19, 2024 People just tend to see Em's numbers lower than they really are just cause he was selling like crazy. 300k without physicals in 2024 is huge for a rap album without big features, Vultures was anticipated af and sold the half first week, mr morale was even more anticipated than this and did the same amount. By the end of the year it will be double platinum most probably and that would be huge 25+ years into his career.
Jul 19, 2024 I hope Em gets the number 1 spot for the second week. It's been so long since he last did that!
Jul 19, 2024 Does anyone in here think this is Em’s best album? Or does anything think this is the best rap album of all time?
