When it comes to Travis and other rappers with lyrics about doing drugs and f---ing, this aspect is ignored in the reviews, and they are praised and rated solely for their sound. The music culture is really totally destroyed. In f---ing shambles. Everything is about politics now.
Jul 21, 2024 Just realized Em mentions Kim Jong-un Korean dictator. He wasn't the leader of North Korea in 2004, he was there since 2011 or something. That song might be changed more than we thought for the album... Doing drugs is a cool thing in the eyes of authorities today tho. It's kinda part of woke culture or what it evolved to be lately I guess. It's being legalized and s--- everywhere.

The two are going for completely different goals with their music and they should be judged accordingly (people like Travis should also be critiqued for their lyrics because it's part of the music itself although not a large part but still my point stands).

Jul 21, 2024 Em mentions biggie and pac a couple of times, feels like he is positioning himself as the OG big 3. like looking at top10 there are a lot of copies of Biggie (jayz etc) and Tupac (kendrick etc) so the way he says biggie and Tupac is dead but I’m still here, kind of feels like he saying they are the original big 3, and then there are some minions

Jul 21, 2024 It depends on what the music is trying to achieve, the new Charli or Denzel Curry aren't immaculately written from a lyricism standpoint but it's fun and catchy music that can hit certain moods sonically and lyrically when it's needed for the track.
