Aug 2, 2024 It's really bad. And really good. It's his most confusing. Bc whilst I can say it's a terrible album - not cohesive, no consistent sound; all over the place, some corny hooks... and really bad choices... If I listen to it, it's really fun and I enjoy almost every song. The songs are really enjoyable, were at the time and are now. And has some of his most well-laboured writing; ofc like any modern Em album it's got bad writing all over the place too, but when it's good - it's very good, and you can tell he wrote himself into oblivion. Especially on s--- like 'Groundhog Day', his level of rapping, the range of flows and styles... was all... very fun, and dense. And the album lasted me a LONG time it felt. Like, I didn't get bored of it within a week or a couple of days.
Aug 2, 2024 3 weeks later after the album was out... Fuel still the number one song on this album for me.
Aug 2, 2024 I think Fuel is by far and away the best song on the album. It's hard to view the songs individually because most have to fit within the context of the album or you can't really judge it correctly. However, if anything this has made me appreciate MTBMB slightly more. Lotta bangers on both sides.
Aug 2, 2024 To further drive this point, the only low point on TDOSS is the MMLP2 flow segment on Antichrist. That s--- is jarring. Vocal performance sounds horrible in comparison to everything else.
Aug 2, 2024 Safe to say that after 3 weeks then, the response to this album is still pretty positive?
Aug 2, 2024 There's never been an eminem album that didn't last me a long time lol I'm gonna sound like a stanley( I listen to a ton of different music) but to me eminem is miles ahead of everyone else enjoyment wise for me. When I say MMLP2 is bad it's bad for eminem standard.
Aug 2, 2024 still 8/10 to me but it's more because of how much I love the best songs. as an album I would say it's a 7/10. I'm more than satisfied but I hope whatever comes next is more cohesive and focused. there's not a single song on his first three albums that you could say doesn't fit in or belong on the project. I love Bad One but no more Side B songs thanks. still can't stand Tobey
Aug 2, 2024 Bro, expecting something better for his next project is unrealistic. This album over delivered what we expected at this point in his career. Next album won't be close to this if Shady is gone.
Aug 2, 2024 I think he can pretty much deliver great music without playing the Shady character but it's gonna make him come up with new content. On the other hand, maybe nowadays Shady is needed more than ever. Even just looking at the Olympics, there are already many things that Shady could easily address and make fun of in a way. Biologically male boxer beating women boxers, unlike what has been done to Russia, Israel can almost commit some sort of genocide in Palestine without anybody saying or doing s--- about it, they are allowed to compete in Olympics. I think there more material to use for a character like Shady nowadays more than ever.
