Aug 2, 2024 Skills wise? Yes, definitely. But he will never win that discussion singlehandedly. His career lacks some of the checkboxes other rappers do tick.
Aug 2, 2024 I’m here for it but if you’re gonna diss someone like Drake why not say his name and bury the n----- especially after the Kendrick s---? Kick him while he’s down and dropping singing s--- lol
Aug 2, 2024 Yeah he needs to leave this great album alone now and move on with what he started after GC2 (and Fuel, which he should have put after it too since its not a shady song)
Aug 2, 2024 Not always, she has a genetic condition which has given her a biological advantage, she’s not transgender, & she’s already lost to other women 9 times professionally lol
Aug 2, 2024 I don’t know man, read she was born a chick and thought she was one of them male looking lesbians, a lesbiano on testosterone shots. Does look more like a dude than a lesbiano tho.
Aug 2, 2024 I know that it will be somewhat an unpopular opinion but to me Recovery aged like fine wine. The songs have so much energy that Nicolas Cage could sing them in Longlegs.
Aug 2, 2024 1. A one on one, back and forth beef with a peer (rapper) that's on the same level. Almost every one of the rappers in the goat conversation has had that: A Legendary Beef. Ice Cube VS Eazy-E Ice-T VS LL Cool J LL Cool J VS Kool Moe Dee Tupac VS Biggie. JayZ VS Nas. 50 Cent VS Ja Rule Drake VS Kendrick Etc And it doesn't even matter who won the beef. Some people still consider Biggie better than Tupac, or JayZ better than Nas, or Drake better than Kendrick, even though they're widely considered the losers in each beef. 2. More consistency throughout his discography (the highs are very high, the lows are very very very very very low). 3. Relatability. At the end of the day, I think 20 years from now, people will look at Em as someone who had an immense skillset, a great toolbox but at the same time a large portion of his audience can't really relate to what he's saying in his songs (for the most part). I have more but I don't want to type anymore, lol.
Aug 2, 2024 By the way, Genius.com gave Verse Of The Month to JID for his verse on Fuel. Great verse. But I think Em's was a lot better. Seems a bit unfair.
Aug 2, 2024 Maybe, but I think when all is said and done, and he passes away; The culture will give him his flowers finally.
Aug 2, 2024 I'm excited for the CC3 era of his career seems like he has finally got over Revival trauma and will appear in the public more
Aug 2, 2024 Also Em definitely had the better verse. JID killed it, but Em was awake and ready to spit. Hoping for that type of energy whenever we get a Cole Feat, or another Kendrick collab
Aug 2, 2024 Recovery is and has always been his best album outside the Big 3 for me.. Seduction is sooooooo underrated.. That’s the Em flow I like.. Cold Wind Blows, So Bad, No Love, Spacebound, s--- I could keep goin.. Great album
Aug 2, 2024 Our guy is accustomed to being somewhat ignored in the culture, it's nothing new, but he keeps going strong regardless. He will be fine. This is Re-up Em from 2006 (his Tobey verse is basically a remake of this one): All I hear is I'm best at this and I'm best at that But I don't hear my name, no, ne'er brought up in rap And I don't usually trip or dare get caught up in that But when they say, "one of the best", I'm nowhere thought of as that Not even the same league as Jay-Z, Nas, Pac Biggie, or maybe they'll name me somewhere down at the bottom Right after AZ, or say "he Ripped that Biggie verse, or that Jay-Z" "Yo, his verses were crazy, on that 'Renegade', B! But I ain't never bought no whole CD of Shady And all I hear is pop tunes come on the radi- -o, and they play 'em twenty times in a row daily" And that very well maybe the same reason they don't say me When they speak on hip-hop legends, which has amazed me
