Aug 2, 2024 “This is hip-hop. I think it’s competitive to a degree, obviously. Even Drake, his position and the attitude and his choices, those are 50 Cent choices,” he began. “‘F–k it, everybody got to get it then.’ When it becomes Drake versus Kendrick, it’s because it’s the only thing you can put up against Drake’s success.” When an artist has a successful run as long and dominant as Drake’s, 50 believes other rappers are waiting to see him fall from the top so they could have a shot at the throne. The Queens legend thinks it came to the point that people were poking holes in Drake’s artistry that really weren’t there. “Look, our culture loves to see you go up because it’s confirmation that they can go up,” he added. “But when you stay up — ‘I want this s–t forever, man’ — they go, ‘Well, g.d.. When you going to come down? If you don’t come down, I ain’t going to have my chance to go up.’ And then it’s these clouds that come over you, and that cloud is doubt, a shadow of doubt that doesn’t come from material or your work ethic.” The “In Da Club” rapper continued: “It’s doubt from the artist community, where they say, ‘I don’t know, his new s–t is cool, but it’s not his first s–t.’ They do that to you and Drake’s just experiencing what you experience as a backlash from success, from the consistency he’s delivered over and over. I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.” While 50 is confident Drake will bounce back, because of his own antics in battle, his enemies didn’t suffer the same fate. “Now, the s–t that I do, it ruins your whole f—ing career,” he gravely declared.
Aug 2, 2024 It’s really not that deep conceptually & Em definitely didn’t intend it to be that way, despite being layered lyrically. We’re not missing anything in regards to the concept If the concept was deeper than we thought, for a start, Tobey certainly wouldn’t be on the album. And the second half of the album would be more cohesive. It’s obviously not flawlessly executed, but a brilliant album nonetheless
Aug 2, 2024 I agree, there's really not much more to it BUT there are lot of contradicting facts that might lead to this confusion. Just to name one: Right before the album was released, they released this teaser and at the end of it, you can see this: Hinting at "he's not dead" obviously. And then, in the album (named The DEATH of Slim Shady) someone spits, which is directly connected to that teaser I mentioned above, and after that the very first track is pure Slim Shady tone, voice, cadence and flow. So who spat on whose grave? And why is it clearly a SS track when we've JUST heard someone spit on a grave - which is exactly what they wanted us to believe, that's why they created that teaser in the first place AND decided to release it right before the album - if it's Slim Shady the one who dies in this album? And there's more.
Aug 2, 2024 Yeah well I was watching this with my fam and initially I was like, I flipped out like 'OH THIS IS RIDICULOUS, f---ing MEN HITTING WOMEN' bc it was implied, on UK TV and just, it was implied it was a trans woman. But, it wasn't. So, shame on the Italian chick. Any male boxer did that, f---ing quit in 46 seconds. cmon. Shame.
Aug 2, 2024 added Take The World With Me, Desperados and Demon Inside I'm telling you it's a d--- masterpiece
Aug 2, 2024 The beats on it are great. As for the album my opinion hasn't changed much since my recent thread on it: Relapse = 5/10, Relapse℠ = 8/10
