Aug 25, 2024 again im not sure that’s accurate. even with his early albums em wanted the serious songs to be the singles. most of his first singles were afterthoughts demanded by the label. he talks about this in numerous interviews and literally mentions it on face off. i feel like the mainstream likes to cherry pick which aspects of em’s personality they like and i’m not sure that’s a great way to view art
