Jun 29, 2021 Say What You Say and When the Music Stops are the main offenders, but I'd also include Square Dance, Business, Superman...it's not even that I necessarily outright hate those latter three songs, it's just that they're sooooo needlessly long. It's a big reason why the Eminem Show is such a slog for me to get thru, combined with the melodramatic nature of it and too much of his own production. It's true that there's some needlessly long songs on Relapse too, but the hypnotic Dre production makes them easier for me to sit through. I understand why people like TES but it's aged perhaps the poorest of any of his albums for me.

Jun 29, 2021 Completely agree with Say What You Say and When The Music Stops. I also have never been a fan of Square Dance. Just don’t see what’s so great about it. Drips can gtf aswell, garbage. Business and Superman are great imo though. The skits on Relapse though, sheeeeeeeesh.

Not a fan of square dance or business tho. And this is an unpopular opinion I know but I never cared for Sing for the Moment really lol. I f--- with drips #withoutthenacho

Jun 29, 2021 Superman has been a fav of mine for as long as I can remember. Imo, the way Square Dance sounds to me. It could have easily been an extra on Relapse.
Jun 29, 2021 i was never huge into the superman beat, or even the concept at the time (it was a single post 8 Mile too iirc, and the video was so cheap/basic/lazy).... but knowing its Real (mariah aside, i recall one critic once describe it as one of the great breakup songs OAT) and witnessing em do something similar many many times without the heart or authenticity or passion makes me appreciate it in hindsight. plus drake got it that shine a year or two ago, affirming its classic status.

Jun 29, 2021 TES is probably his best album imo. Don’t really listen to it a lot weirdly enough. Superman for sure is a classic to me. That s--- banged when I was 11 and it bangs now
