Sep 18, 2024 They charged me as soon as I preordered it lol. I still need to read through the booklet while I’m listening.
Sep 18, 2024 When was the last time they put lyrics in the booklets tho ?... Probably in Recovery or something. I doubt you have anything to read besides the credits lol I heard that but what's the source ? And also I heard that it was just cds, which is even more weird... How would only cd sale numbers are known ? That sounds unlikely. Vinyls are the main source of physical sales I guess.
Sep 18, 2024 No it’s not only CDs. It’s the pure sales which means preorders + digital versions. The source is HDD which do weekly estimates for the billboard chart. https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=342655&title=TOP-20:-TRAVIS-EMINEM-AND-PARIS-MAKE-MOVES
Sep 18, 2024 hmm it's really weird. Either the physicals like preorders and s--- already counted before or there are only 28k people who are interested in buying Em's album ?? That doesn't sound right. (well, it's the middle of the week but 56k is pretty low too). I'd say there is at least half a million people in US who would like to buy this one just keep the collection going...
Sep 18, 2024 No, they were counted before 2021 I think (MTBMB ) but Billboard changed the rules due to Travis Scott selling a lot of bundles. It seems that HDD says that these are the sales only with the expanded version, no mention of physicals. So either they sold very few of them, or they don’t have access to the Eminem.com store numbers, which I also doubt since they had no problem reporting Sabrina’s or Travis’ numbers when deciding their no. 1 debut. I think they just sold less than expected.
Sep 18, 2024 I took a Quick Look at the booklet and didn’t notice any lyrics but there’s some cool art to look at. I don’t need the lyrics anyway I already know all of them
Sep 18, 2024 Ohhhh that explains it. Yeah Amazon doesn’t charge you until they ship it. You said Amazon France though. Do they send you a free baguette with your package?
Sep 18, 2024 Nah, they were already counted on release: "Commercial performance [edit] In the United States, the album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart,[3] accumulating 281,000 album equivalent units which consisted of 114,000 downloads and 164,500 streaming-equivalent units." the downloads are the pre-orders/digital sales outside of streaming. they obviously pushed them instead of physical sales then the physical months later, maybe for longevity too - to get the album back on the charts / keep it there throughout the year. Those 28,000 are physical CD sales, which have just been released and therefore counted. The rest are probably streams of the expanded/usual version too, since they count as one. No coincidence that version released as the physicals did, they obviously had this marketing schedule set up, and were prolly tryna combine the expanded hype + physical for another big boost week at once. And lol ppl think Em's team are all over the place. I work in marketing, it's obvious they're actually quite meticulous. May not market what you want or how you want, but, they clearly plan and line s--- up a lot.
Sep 18, 2024 That's whay I'm saying. I think we're crossing wires here. So yeah the 28k would be the pre-orders of the physicals yeah, but you saying the digital pre-orders too I thought you mean. I'm saying those pre-order digital versions were released on release date and woulda been counted in that 1st week as the 'downloads'. But yeah 28k is all the sales, physicals, pre-orders n all, and like I'm saying they obviously lined that release up with mourner's edition for digital, so they could try maximise a new week here. All very low numbers considering. Em's numbers/buzz p low rn. 28k is wild but the nagain who tf does actually listen to CDs in comparison to digital these days... CDs are basically dead. Someone like Taylor Swift is a phenom, an oddity, vinyls making a comeback though/never really went away, just due tot he romanticism of 'em/
Sep 18, 2024 @Marsh wow the PS5 really can’t play CDs, the disc came up as unreadable. After doing some research being able to play CDs on PlayStation hasn’t been a thing since PS3 lmao. It’s a good thing I have these ancient relics known as CD players.
Sep 18, 2024 I’m more disappointed at these numbers than the expanded release. Maybe they saw the preorders didn’t sell and dropped the expanded randomly to boost the sales a bit. Did they print few copies and this is why they sold out fast? This week they shipped: cds, alternate cds and tapes. We have the digital expanded as well. And there are also in store-purchases.
Sep 18, 2024 CDs are from a bygone era, as you’re buying them as a relic, not to hear their music. This is not shocking at all.
