Sep 18, 2024 Sales are down in the music industry for a number of reasons. One of them is that the tactics they used to cheat have been banned. Another reason is that the music industry is extremely saturated now… everybody and their grandmother makes music these days. The internet and TikTok has played a gigantic role in that oversaturation. The way these companies like Spotify dictate what counts as a “stream” and how many of those “streams” count as a sale is crazy. Spotify is anti-artist period. I’m glad that sales are getting lower because f--- these major labels and companies. IYKYK

Well, to me that just says you never really got it or had a s--- sense of humour/understanding to begin with. Becuase, most of it has just gotten better with age. Says to me, people who say that... you were misunderstanding the appeal, and trivialising the content, and humour. I was never laughing at his pee pee or d-ck jokes or like 'whoah, rebellion, f--- you mom n dad! haha, yeah!', lmao, like, his humour was always sophisticated and irony and comedian-like to me; the humour and writing of his I was laughing at anyway, and for which he truly got praised. Not when he's being stupid. s--- like 'shut up when I'm talking to you! You hear me!? Answer me!!', that's funny and smart now. No matter what the age. That's irony, and wit, and good humour. It's not childish or juvenille or something I grow out of. Same as 97 Bonnie & Clyde - him storytelling a murder, using baby talk to comedically imply macabre detail to the listener is just brilliant, and the way he did it. It's creative, and smart, and funny. Storytelling, and great humour, and creativity, and great writing... aren't something I grow out of. All the hip-hop I found great as a kid, I find great now, and still find much great hip-hop and artistry within rap now. There's plenty of s-----y rap for kids, sure, like there's plenty of s-----y all music for all kinds of people... most great rap like Nas' NY State of Mind, painting an atmosphere, taking you through the streets of NY etc. require more of an adult mind to appreciate properly anyway, that's not for kids.
