Oct 3, 2024 I didn't like the song at first (and I have a daughter) and when I saw the promo for the video I thought. It was going to be s---. This video has increased the value of the song tenfold for me though. Seeing Em, someone I've followed their career from the SSLP days, vulnerable like that was actually really emotional. It gives the "now that I'm gone" bar a new meaning as well. He's not gone as in "slim shady is dead", he's gone as in he's not the most important man in her life anymore now that she's married. And the pregnancy announcement was the icing on the cake. Very well done. No one was expecting that. I still stand by my original thoughts thought that the absolute worst thing about this song is Skylar f---ing Grey. She has no place being on such a personal song in the first place and now it's even worse. For this song to be truly up there in the greats, Hailie herself should've sung the hook. Or at least tried to. No one would've cared if it wasn't in tune. And writing credits gone to Skylar would be fine.
