It’s not about the numbers, it’s about the events, it’s about the actions. 2002 Eminem’s year was different from any other rapper, 2018 Drake’s year was different from any other rapper, 2024 Kendrick’s year was different from any other rapper.
Nov 26, 2024 Agree with all of this. It's all about the impact. Kendrick's impact in 2024 is one of the biggest display of cultural shift I've ever seen. Mainly because it was totally unexpected. We are like 7 months in since this beef started but let's not forget what it was like the night Like That dropped. And I'm not even going to MTG and NLU because to me what really caused impact in hip hop was the risk Kendrick took with Like That.

Dunno how people can say Em influenced no one or only corny rappers like Hopsin; when he majorly influenced the current artistic and musical GOAT of rap @ Kendrick. The vocal inflection n flow n s---, how he keeps f---ing with s---... keeping it fresh. Dunno how some can say Kendrick is boring either, he's opposite to me, what I hear. That's what makes s--- interesting, that's what used to make Em interesting, he'd come with some new style or flow like 'wtf is this'. Kendrick def influenced by Em from that, also s--- that he himself said @ vocal drama, and clarity... It's just dumb people look for obvious things as signs of influence as in, 'oh Drake did this specific 1 sing song flow and now others are' or, wearing certain kind of fkn jeans or something; Em influenced people on a deeper level aka to step their fkn writing up, and like with Kendrick @ vocal clarity and drama, s--- you'd never think of, but which is a lot more fundamental and important to progressing the art than some little trend.
