Dec 5, 2024 eh. it was alright back then but only compared to revival. it was still a huge step down from mmlp2 quality wise. the ringer was great, because it hit back at the critics but he sounds depressed and exhausted, just like much of a+b, greatest is a shadow of what houdini is, luck you is dusty af especially joyner’s verse, normal is unlistenable, stepping stone becomes very cringy on multiple plays, em’s not alike verse is amazing but about a topic nobody cares about, kamikaze and fall are great but sound kinda forced to me, nice guy and good guy are unlistenable, and venom is fine, for a movie song. but compared to mmlp2 or tdoss with 15-20 iconic songs each, kamikaze does not cut it in my opinion. we don’t need to think the same way about this bro
Dec 5, 2024 i will say i loved the fall and good guy music videos, and the kimmel performance of venom. but all in all an extremely underwhelming era tbh. i remember how big of a deal the surprise drop was it’s literally the album i revisit the least of his whole discography
