"The old Em is still in there somewhere!" essentially. Even more charity is needed though if your cynicism has reached the point of doubting his authenticity as a person, period, as in his character altogether. Mine hasn't. All the wigger s--- aside, Eminem was genuinely awesome back in the day. All you have to do to refresh your memory of this is listen to something like Quitter or No Apologies, or watch one of his old interviews, esp from 2001 after he'd matured a bit since the SSLP/MMLP days but before he got a little too full of himself for his own good circa 8 Mile.
