Jul 5, 2021 It was more mature, and about his recovery from addiction. It's still Em, so it has a lot of goofy stuff, that was far from horrible imo. His post Recovery fun songs were a pain in the a--- (MMLP2 and Revival) Revival just failed at everything. Dude decided to go all political again for no reason and Trump ignored his a--- and answered to Snoop instead. And if he hated DT so much, why didn't he support one of the biggest songs back then, FDT? And kicking 2 Chainz out of the song for no reason after people got excited about the feature.
Jul 5, 2021 I agree with Recovery part (cause most tracks touched this topic - recovery), but Revival wasn't all political, only "Untouchable", "Like Home" and "Nowhere Fast" were political, so c'mon now. I tell ya, Revival was Em stunt to stir s--- up so he could bounce back with Kamikaze. He dropped this album so he could get angry again, I'm really surprised he wasn't blonde during Kamikaze rollout (there was no rollout, but still)
Jul 5, 2021 You're saying he dropped a bad album on purpose? Bro, Em only drops something if he feels confident with it. The reality is he was uninspired with Revival. The album was all over the place because he tried to please everyone. He ended up doing the opposite. The album had no direction and was all over the place.
Jul 5, 2021 I don't think I will ever be able to get used to the vocals and flow Eminem has been using since MMLP2. It sucks because the production and hooks on MTBMB Part A & B is the best thing since TES. I wish I could enjoy it but it kills the replay value.
Jul 5, 2021 The album is only hated on this forum. Everyone else enjoyed. It’s fantastic, and it’s his best effort to date.
Jul 5, 2021 I don't know what makes you think there's an explanation though. He felt the music was good enough to put out and that's why he put it out. I think it's as simple as that, man. No big conspiracy or plan behind it. The same happened with Encore and Relapse. At the time he thought the music was good. But the albums got a bad reception and he later trashed those albums.
Jul 5, 2021 No way he thought the music was good on Encore lol I think he took some pills and thought it would be fun to make some stupid records to replace the ones that leaked XD
Jul 5, 2021 Personally, I never go back to MMLP2 or Revival as a whole. Never. I only go back to the 5 or 6 tracks I liked from each, instead of playing them as a whole like I do with the others.
Jul 5, 2021 I said it's a mix between the female pop stuff from Recovery, his worst dumb songs from MMLP2 and politics. Didn't say it was all political. But I do think Mosh and White America s--- on his political songs from Revival, that ended up being kinda corny. It's like he wanted to go hard on Trump, but not too hard so they wouldn't call him Anti american. I guess that's why he made that corny anthem with Alicia sounding like Skylar.
Jul 5, 2021 Check out Twitter, IMDB, Rolling Stones, HipHopDX, etc. they all loved it and mostly everyone did except Section Eighty because it’s chalk full of weirdos.
Jul 5, 2021 It was recorded around the same time, and in the same vein. Would have fit perfectly on Revival. I’m sad we never got a fully mixed and mastered version because it’s phenomenal.
Jul 6, 2021 Just like he had the re up between Encore and Relapse. Encore to Relapse was 4.5 years MMLP2 to Revival was 4 years
