Jan 10, 2022 I remember you mentioned this before, but I also remember counter arguments. For example, there was no zany killer shady prior to Relapse, not in the way Relapse is. If he wanted to do what "the kids" wanted, he wouldn't invent something new like a serial killer with an accent. And one simple comment "you should do crazy stuff" is not likely to be responsible for more than 100 songs where he seems to really be in the zone with what he's doing. While I do believe that info is correct about his son saying that, it feels like wishful thinking on his part, taking credit for it for that simple comment. Relapse is a masterpiece!
Jan 10, 2022 Also, Em has said in more than one interview that he got into documentaries about serial-killers during the time around his sobriety (post-surgery in 2008), and that the Relapse vibe can from there.
Jan 10, 2022 I know, but that can be shrugged off as him rationalizing. But why would Dre's son hold that kind of influence over Eminem anyways? If Dre told him to do it, I could understand. Who's Dre's son and what does he know about anything? Why didn't he listen to him and release Relapse 2 as well? Does he pick what Eminem has for lunch each day?
