Jan 25, 2022 Anyone else have their life changed by the beat on the second half of Not Alike? After the beat switch. You know, many theologians say that humans can only experience truth through rationality or revelation. Well, the first time I heard not alike I experienced revelation. There are fundamental principles of music and beauty that the beat aligns with. With regards to beauty, all the parts work towards the whole and you are immediately struck with a sensory immersion that captivates you until the section of the song is over. In terms of how it is musically revelatory and beautiful, well, many opera performers would tell you music is meant to encapsulate absolute truth by describing emotions that are otherwise indescribable while still being able to be felt very clearly by the listener. Not Alike’s second half instrumental really is like that for me. Could do without the rapping part though!
Jan 25, 2022 One time I was at a small party, maybe 10 ppl. Diverse group, good time, until at one point this really nerdy white kid (and this was in 2020 mind you) put on Rap God and unironically wanted to show off to everyone how he could rap every word. I was a little baked at the time, and will never forget watching this kid do a machine gun motion as he rapped the Columbine lines. Literally killed the entire flow of the party, made everyone uncomfortable, h--- made me feel bad that I still like Eminem in 2022. That kid is what I imagine when I picture Chuny in real life.
Jan 25, 2022 I love how every time the clock strikes 9:34, precisely, this threads members just get f---ing aggressive and hateful Then the next morning, *poof* back to hype train land lmfao
Jan 25, 2022 That's a really horrible thing to say to someone Like, Jesus Christ, the joke's gone too far
Jan 25, 2022 Everyone just gets grumpy because it's past their bedtimes A lil' nap seems to do the trick
Jan 25, 2022 I have noticed that. I tend to sit back during the serious s--- talking. I'm here for positivity and hype train. And of course light hearted making fun of each other.
Jan 25, 2022 Oh yeah, it's always fun to s---t the s--- at/ with Iceboy and Cookie Monster, but I ain't trynna catch a murder by proxy and suggestion lmao
Jan 25, 2022 Yeah as someone who has dealt with clinical depression, suicide and mental health is one thing I don't joke about.
Jan 25, 2022 Yeah, my response to chuny was to exaggerate the joke cuz tbh it hit really close to home (been suicidal, on meds, etc.) and I’ve just learned if I don’t laugh I cry so whatever. Hate how he felt the need to bully me that seriously not knowing anything about me or my life just because he technically can’t be banned but it is what it is :/ that’s why we’re all here I feel, cuz Em gives us strength to overcome that similar pain
Jan 25, 2022 I'm here if you ever want someone to talk to man. Never suffer in silence. Now back to hype train.
Jan 25, 2022 Imagine the Andre 3k “feature” on Em’s new album is just a sample on another love song lmao
