Feb 6, 2022 The wit mixed with impressive rhymes and cadence during the sslp era was unmatched, it was and still is nothing like it. He for sure can be witty and his flow and delivery can be almost out-of-worldy. I think good examples of it is his Walkthrough verse and his verse on I will especially the first lines "Sippin' Bacardi and lime I start to recollect on the time That I startled my mom and had her scared to death Word to Method Man She heard some Wu-Tang coming from towards the patio She was like, "What the heck was that?" She went to check on the noise and go inspect the deck Then I jumped out with a sword and yelled, "Protect your neck!" I can almost picture old Em spitting something like that. But the thing with his slim shady era was that it was constantly, there were no let downs. His throw away verses was top notch, like "I'm the illest rapper to hold the cordless, patrollin' corners Lookin' for hookers to punch in the mouth with a roll of quarters I'm meaner in action than Roscoe beatin' James Todd Senior Across the back with vacuum cleaner attachments I grew up in a wild hood as a hazardous youth With a f----- up childhood that I used as an excuse" That was just a verse he gave away to a b movie? Thats mind boggling, he was so continuously proficient. There were no "call us long john silver cus we selfiiiiiish" or " i look up to myself like a f---ing headstand!". It's almost a fine line between a disturbing and a hilarious thought to imagine the young wild marshall spitting those kind of lines back in the 90's lol. He was literally the definition of having the midas touch. Such a dope era, wish i was a lil older so i could get the full experience.
