Aug 3, 2021 Feel the song would've been great if it lost those last 2 minutes or so. The random rhyming rambling/nonsense gave me ptsd of shadyxv intro campaign speech right for me era Em where hes saying so much but not saying s--- at the same time.
Aug 3, 2021 I hate the shady xv title song and campaign speach is unlistenable. But I f----- with every part of the song tbh. I even like the last part
Aug 3, 2021 I wonder what the Nas/Em song will be about. Considering it's a part 2 of a song Nas did on the previous album. The first song talks about mafia, feds, money but not really anything deep. So i'm assuming they won't be talking about anything deep or specific on this one either. Maybe just flexing on their skills and accomplishments? I haven't been this intrigued by an Em collab in a long time.
Aug 3, 2021 I’m hoping for some flexing/OG content with them being the veterans they are. This is the perfect time for Em to ‘act his age’ so to speak. Hopefully Em reads the room & understands what this is, which I’m sure he does. I’m not sure how EPMD will be incorporated, whether a ‘real’ feature, as in rap verses or just a hook/sample. I’m really looking forward to this, even more so that it’s only a few days away, which doesn’t leave room for unnecessarily high expectations.
Aug 3, 2021 This is a song people have wanted for a very long time two huge respected artist didn't happen before but it's happening now I feel neither one of them would do this unless they believe it's worthy of being released but then again it could s--- lol
Aug 3, 2021 Friendly reminder that Em last verse on bad guy is the best written rap verse of all time
Aug 3, 2021 That verse legit gave me goosebumps for like 5 years, everytime I listened to it. Phenomenal.
Aug 3, 2021 The timing was perfect & the beat switch onto the eerie haunting melody catapults you straight into his frame of mind, filling you with the same sense of dread he is depicting as he assesses not only his position in hip hop at the state of his career but also his life. The layers of self-awareness tying into the Stan story & relaying it as a metaphor for his career instead of *just* a crazed fan is insane. I don’t think many people truly appreciate when Em goes into his depth bag, but to me that verse will go down as one of the greatest he’s ever laid.
Aug 3, 2021 I wish he would have named the album something else . I feel like people had a certain expectation because of the the so it got more hate than it really deserved. There’s definitely some gems on that project.
Aug 4, 2021 I can also visualize the toilets clogged. Just kidding. He spazzed out on that last verse. This part where he refers to getting older was actually kind of sad. "I'm the ringing in your ears I'm the polyps on the back of your tonsils Eating your vocal chords after your concerts I'm your time that's almost up that you haven't acknowledged Grab for some water but I'm that pill that's too jagged to swallow" That whole last verse was just incredible and the build up leading to it as well.
Aug 4, 2021 That song is a movie. All they needed is Dido back on the track and a better voice and flow before the fourth verse. They said they didn't want Dido because it would leak and ruin the surpise. What a dumb reason, it would have brought even more hype.
Aug 4, 2021 I mean to be fair bad guy was already sort of a self fulfilling prophecy of the home invasion
Aug 4, 2021 True. Was joking mostly. I feel like it would be neat for him to have a verse about it though. He could approach it in a lot of ways
