May 13, 2022 I was right, this is not the right time for Kendrick. he wasn't supposed to release an album this year, he still wasn't ready.
May 13, 2022 TPAB makes me fall asleep everytime I try to listen to it, and d---. was just ok imo. GKMC was his classic. I also love tracks like Hiiipower, ADHD, Rigamortis, Hood Gone Love it, King Kunta, DNA. And his collabs with Game and Kanye.
May 13, 2022 they were supposed to give that place to 50 Cent instead of Kendrick to the Super Bowl. I am now 100% sure of it. this is not Kendrick's year.
May 13, 2022 Being taller than Kevin Hart doesn't make you tall. Give your own meaning to this statement and understand what I meant yeah I basically mean being superior than Revival doesn't make it good
May 13, 2022 I still need to sit on the album, gave it like 2 spins and I was disappointed but think the second half is pretty good when I paid attention the second go around. I think it's easily one of his weakest albums and if I wanted certain concepts I'd just go to some of his earlier work but there's some genuinely great songs on there near the end imo.
May 13, 2022 If you can fall asleep listening to The Blacker The Berry it must be ketamine or animal tranquilizer, sure not the album
May 13, 2022 People can say they don't like the way tpab sounds and that's fine but it's such an incredible album artistically and writing wise on most of, if not all of it. Felt like a word wasn't wasted on that whole album.
May 13, 2022 I think basically their whole discog is solid, you'd probably enjoy their last album After Laughter. Good 80s pop style with pretty strong writing for the genre.
May 13, 2022 Being a great Kendrick's fan but not such and hardcore one as I am for Eminem, I now understand why some of you guys act like you don't even like his music at all sometimes. The difference is I didn't (and I won't) say Kendrick's album is trash or that whatever every other artist dropped this year is better than anything I've heard from Kendrick since TPAB, lol
May 13, 2022 Repetition of substance or content isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not a big fan after the first listen but here's the thing: Pusha literally talks about the same s--- in every single record and still sounds good. I mean that album of his is amazing. My problem with Kendrick's record is that it sounds very uninspired (I'm sure it isn't, but that's what it feels like). Also him going overboard with weird beats and gimmicky hooks/interludes/bridges that don't entirely mesh with the production gets tiring after a while. Even the songs that I do like, I don't see myself listening to them after a month and still enjoying. Good music comes first, everything else is secondary. Idk why Kendrick forgets it, and Eminem too for that matter since it's the Eminem section
