May 16, 2022 Encore has great songs but he should have chilled with the fun lol he had to be high as f---. Should have kept the leaked tracks
May 16, 2022 And Dre's production and the 50 and Dre feats. It still felt like a Shady Aftermath album. The skits were also dope.
May 16, 2022 The original version of Relapse isn't that special but when you add some songs from the refill and you leave out a couple of filler songs (ironically) it's a classic to me. Unfortunately you can't make up a classic album by adding or removing tracks by yourself lol. Which is sad cause the same concept applies for Recovery and MMLP2. He could've had 6 classic albums Lol, stupid marshall
May 16, 2022 Hope he is inspired by it in a good way. The content, the way it was exacuted and had that unique artistic value might inspire Em to do something different this time. I know Em won't ever go the lengths Kendrick can in so many ways but I just hope that album inspired him in a way.
May 16, 2022 Well, it almost like he does it willingly. Almost every Em album can easily be classics if it wasn't for some filler tracks. But both Kamikaze and MTBMB had pretty enjoyable filler songs. Kamikaze lacks that feeling of an actual album but I'm almost certain I'll regard MTBMB as a classic after some years.
May 16, 2022 Doing something 'experimental' like that, or trying to come up with a new sound, NOW would only look like he's following Kendrick's trend which is something I'm sure Em doesn't want. I don't think he wants to be seen as someone who follows the path other artists created. I can already see comments on social media like: Oh so now after Kendrick put himself on the line by doing something that wasn't expected of him, Em does it too? Em was always about creating new patterns, not following existing or new ones, imho.
May 16, 2022 But even if Em does something experimental, it doesn't mean he's following Kendricks trend, maybe he has been working on an experimental Album for god knows how long, before he even knew/heard Kendricks album ^^
May 16, 2022 Idk why people are acting like Em is gonna magically mimic this album, he called GKMC a masterpiece but he didn't go making a concept album about growing up in the hood afterwards lol.
May 16, 2022 Eminem wouldn't be able to make a concept album like Kendrick purely because of how different they are musically. Kendrick basically has done it for near enough his whole career integrating his life story and his culture within whole projects. Eminem has done the same thing but has branched it out so far in various songs in many different styles whether it be serious, comedy or horrorcore styles that it would be very hard for Eminem to do something like Kendrick. The closest thing we got was Em doing the Alfred Hitchcock concept but as far as I know sample clearance issues for Side A left the album feeling a lot less cohesive than it actually turned out in the end.
May 16, 2022 I think he just can't make shorter albums and he ends up adding useless songs, which I don't mind cause it's cool to have 18 new songs to listen to, but.. even Kamikaze has only 13 tracks yet it presents some unnecessary tracks like Normal, Kamikaze, Good Guy, Nice Guy. I like the first two but still very unnecessary. Illmatic has 10 tracks, barley feels like an album, but it's considered the best hip hop album ever by many
May 16, 2022 Revival is already a classic, find me another album so hated and discussed even if it sucks That's the privilege of being eminem
May 16, 2022 Why wouldn't Em pick up his phone and call Dre to tell him he's obviously f****** with our minds
May 16, 2022 Not gonna lie though, ever since Em's tweet, I have been in a state of confused and irrational hype
May 16, 2022 Why did Eminem be like yo dre. Dre has had next to no involvement on any of Kendrick’s albums. What one verse the entire time he was signed to aftermath.
